HTC Hero upgrade delayed again now June

Not good news for HTC Hero users out there that are still waiting for the update to the latest version of Android as according to a report over at techradar.com it’s not happening yet.

We reported a while back that the Hero update was already put back and delayed here. Now it seems it has been put back even further. Most of us were expecting the Android update to land this month as that’s what we were lead to believe.

However, at the Google Maps navigation launch a member of the Google team accidentally let slip that the HTC Hero would be getting the necessary upgrade in June and April which we originally thought.

Sadly this has since been confirmed by HTC in a statement, which says, “HTC will be providing a free update to Éclair for European HTC Hero variants. Starting in June, anyone owning an HTC Hero will receive an initial preparatory update, shortly followed by the full update”. So looks like we have another wait on our hands unless of course it is put back again surely not.

June is when the EVO is supposed to be released. so why not delay an upgrade when they need to push a new phone with 2.1 already on it. they want you to buy not free upgrade
