Nokia N8 official with 12 megapixel camera & QT software

All those rumours surrounding the Nokia N8 can now be put to rest as the Nokia N8 Smartphone has now been officially announced. A recent article over at gizmag.com reveals.

The N8 by Nokia is the first to be powered by Nokia’s new Symbian ^3 platform and the company believes this device will be capable of putting to shame some of the dedicated point and shoot cameras with the 12 megapixel camera which features Carl Zeiss optics and Xenon flash.

The Nokia N8 is also capable of recording videos and also editing with its built in software. There is a HDMI connector which allows users to display media on HD equipped Televisions and also listen in Dolby Digital Plus surround sound.

Among other things the N8 features a 3.5 inch capacitive HD touchscreen with 16GB of built in storage expandable to 48GB with the micro SD card. The N8 has of curse full access to the range of Ovi services and this is Nokia’s first Smartphone which is integrated with Qt software development environment which make for the building of applications easy as well as also being able to deploy them across the other software platforms including Symbian. Price wise the Nokia N8 is expected to cost around 370 Euros or US$492 when it starts to ship during the third quarter of this year.
