Free iPhone 4G: Facebook scams surfacing

We have all been here before some time ago, when there were previous offers which at the time centred around the iPod and these truly amazing offers popped up everywhere when the iPod was the hot topic of conversation and the most wanted gadget at the time. Thanks to an article over at beatweek.com we have information on another scam.

Now it seems something similar is happening right now out there praying on the gullible. There are offers now which claim to be offering the iPhone 4G for free. These online scams have been around for sometime and this one has turned up an extremely popular social networking site.

Yep you’ve guessed it Facebook, even if your not into Facebook yourselves the chances are your brother, sister, friends and neighbours are and the site is growing even more popular.

Really this is just a warning to you, anyone offering you a free iPhone 4G at present is more than likely to be attempting to scam you in one way or another. Typically these scams entice you with the truly amazing (that amazing because it isn’t possible) offer which has a disclaimer requesting your personal details. Remember the offer or prize that is supposedly being offered is a product that doesn’t officially exist.

Another thing that is well worth remembering is the saying “if it looks too good to be true, then it probably is”. Have you been a victim of a scam like this or do you know of someone that has? What information was requested? Share your comments and opinions with us.

  1. My cousin recieved a free iPhone 4 today via facebook. I’m just wondering when and how the scam will work on this as she has infact recieved a phone? I clicked onto the link and it wanted all of my info plus said that it could get into my account even if I wasn’t online? This worried me so I went no further! I’m just worried for her! She’s one of those people that tells you every step of her day on facebook so I’m sure I will find out. I will keep you posted.
