BT and Alcatel-Lucent Agree 5 Year Broadband Deal

The UK’s BT has signed a five year deal with Alcatel-Lucent which will see BT make use of Alcatel-Lucent’s High Leverage Network services as BT continues the roll out of their 21st Century Network service in the UK reports an article over on cable.co.uk.

The Managing Director of BT’s 21CN Core Covergence, George Nazi, has stated that the rollout of network services was “a huge transformational programme,” and that Alcatel-Lucent has come up with an innovative solution that will help BT keep 21CN at the forefront of radical change and innovation.

The UK’s telecom giant’s 21CN service performance, bandwidth and capacity will become available in the not too distant future to a broader customer base.

BT also confirmed recently that in excess of 250,000 businesses and homes in the east of England will be able to gain access to BT’s 21CN infrastructure by the spring of 2011.
