HTC EVO 4G to kill iPhone 4G prior to launch

Already we have a number of HTC Evo 4G promotions popping up here and there and as we reported previously here a leaked image became available from RadioShack’s internal employee information system.

Pre-orders will be available this month for the HTC Evo 4G and it is expected to be launched at some point in June this year according to a recent post over at khabrein.info. There is an event next week which is sponsored by Sprint where we can expect to see Dan Hesse Sprint’s CEO who will hopefully be delivering all the information about the HTC EVO 4G including price and features.

The EVO has some amazing features such as running on Android 2.1 OS with a 4.3 inch TFT LCD screen with a resolution of 400 x 800 and a 1GHz Snapdragon processor. Also it will boast an 8 megapixel camera and a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera for video conferencing. Of course there will be Bluetooth, Wi-Fi which will share both 3G and 4G data speeds amongst other things.

The only drawbacks that seem to have come to light so far is that it is a little on the large side and bulky in your pocket, the WiMAX coverage areas are small and this will make the Wi-Fi experience quite weak as 4G isn’t available everywhere. Despite that little bit of negative the HTC Evo seems the best Android option to date and will surely be taking over all other Smartphones in the market, including the iPhone? Share your comments and options on this can the iPhone compete or not?

I have not seen a phone yet that can compete with the iphone and until that happens everything else is just inferior.

Chris, stay with your spoonfed OS. The rest of us will enjoy the freedom of open source, you know, the ability to run what you want, not what BigBro says you can. Put your phone against any 2.1 android smartphone, and find out what yours CAN'T DO!

Have you guys had a HTC Desire in your pocket yet? I would not want to go back to iPhones, unless they seriously work on it AND bring the price down into sensible regions. It's just not competitive. Plus give the Android market another 2 years and the iPhone market will look like a relict from strange past times.

iphone going in to the trash june 4, 2010. htc evo here i come , the new iphone will never have half the specs of the htc evo and if it come close they will make a wack 4g and then make you buy the 4gs for Christmas.

I KNOW IPHONE WILL FALL SHORT TO MOST OF HTC SPECS, BUT HERE ARE SOMETHINGS I KNOW THAT THE IPHONE WONT DO; HDMI OUT, 4G, (AT&T DONT OFFER THAT), REMOVABLE BATTERY AND THE ABILITY TO SYNC APPLICATION WITHOUT USING ITUNES, I HATE THAT, CANT PUT A SONG ON A DIFFERENT COMPUTER, UNLESS I DO A WHOLE BUNCH OF BS
