I've had the new Blackberry Bold 9700 since Xmas 2009, it's extremely reliable and the battery just lasts for days (unlike the iPhone which needs recharging just about every 12 hours if you have all features turned on). There's nothing that I can complain about the Blackberry, it's just a shame that there seems to be a limited apps available for it comparing to the ultra popular iphones.

I was an iPhone user for about 2 years and then switched to the BlackBerry Bold 9700 after having ongoing issues with the handset volume controls (I am 20% deaf in both ears) with the iPhone (3G and 3GS). The BlackBerry Bold 9700 was a great choice since I stayed with AT&T. The battery lasts for days, unlike the iPhone, and the call clarity / volume control of the earpiece does a wonderful job. Although I loved my iPhone, and I have been a Mac user since before the 'boom' of Apple in 2007, I have to vote for the BlackBerry Bold 9700 is by far better in overall battery life, call quality, and ease of use.

Had the phone since January and I am on Orange contract. The device does everything I wanted it to do, and does it really well. Push email is brilliant and very easy to setup, even for non tech minded people like myself. One thing I wasn't aware of when getting the device was that you needed to get the Blackberry Internet Service (commonly known as BIS), you need this so you can access the web, receive emails etc. On Orange costs £6 a month extra but for that gives you 1mb of data which is more then enough to browse the web, use your applications pretty much all day every day and not worry about any additional costs getting added onto your bill at the end of the month. I hope RIM will improve the build quality of future Blackberry's as this is the only thing that lets it down. Referring to the problems of the previous poster, I haven't had any problems with the device and can get a signal where ever I go, except for the black spots that every phone operator has in there coverage.
