Skype Focus on iPhone, Android and Symbian not Windows Phone 7

It appears that popular VoIP firm Skype may have some kind of issue with Microsoft and their new Windows Phone 7. It has been rumoured that Skype was working on developing Skype for Windows Phone 7, but apparently that isn’t going to happen.

According to an article over on i4u, a report by smarthouse has it that Skype has dumped Windows Phone 7 to concentrate on developing for the iPhone, Android and Symbian platforms, although no explanation was offered as to why.

Apparently during an event in Sydney, Dan Neary, Asia Pacific VP for Skype confirmed that no development was taking place for Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 mobile operating system.

So there you have it, no Skype for Windows Phone 7 apparently and neither side is offering any insight as to why this has come about, but we’ll keep you informed as and when we hear..
