Nexus One Gains Android 2.2 as Google begins Rollout

During the Google I/O 2010 event the Google guys announced that the next generation of the Android operating system, Android 2.2 otherwise known as Froyo would be being pushed out tow Google’s superphone the Nexus One, over the next few weeks.

Well according to an article by MG Siegler over at TechCrunch, Goggle has already begun rolling out Android 2.2 to the Nexus One smartphone, and his device has already been updated.

Apparently after hitting the sack MG decided the handset needed charging and on looking there was an alert which said a system update was available, MG also checked the HTC EVO 4G as Google had handed the device out at I/O, but not system update for the EVO yet unfortunately.

Mg says that Android 2.2 is definitely faster than 2.1and apparently Google’s announcement that Froyo would be 2 to 5 times faster than 2.1 looks to be about right. So, anyone else out their packing a Nexus One received the Android 2.2 update, if so let us know how you get along.
