Orange Boston Android to hit UK in June: New Update

Orange is getting ready to bring to the market a new series of a device which is intended to offer a wider range of customers the possibility to actually be able to try out a Smartphone.

According to a recent article from Ionut Arghire over at softpedia.com the device to be more precise is an Android based mobile phone that will target the middle level of the market namely the Orange Boston. This handset has been spotted before in the wild and has just been launched in Spain.

The word is that is coming to the UK next month. Those users in Spain can already take advantage of the Orange Boston and see what it has to offer them they have the option of having the device with or without a monthly tariff.

The Orange Boston on contract in Black is available on the carrier’s website priced from 59 Euro to 79 Euro. We can apparently look forward to the Orange Boston in the UK with a price of £100 or 120 Euro. The device itself has some appealing specifications including a 3.2 inch touchscreen display and a 5 megapixel camera both HSDPA and HSUPA connectivity a microSD memory card slot with a 2 GB card included with much more.

UPDATE: We received an email that updates this story –

Hello

I work for Orange Group’s PR team and I’d like to flag an inaccuracy in your article https://www.phonesreview.co.uk/2010/05/26/orange-boston-android-to-hit-uk-in-june/

The Boston handset is not coming to the UK at present and Orange has not announced any plans to do so or pricing.

We’d be very grateful if you could amend your article to reflect this. I have spoken to Ionut at Softpedia about the article and he has agreed to amend. He took the news from another source which I believe has been the main outlet for this incorrect story.

However, what we can tell you for the UK is that the UK will be getting a Huawei manufactured device in June, followed by something similar from ZTE in August. We will of course send you more information on that when we can.

Please confirm receipt of this mail and that you can amend the article.

Thanks in advance and thank you for your interest in Orange. We will of course be delighted to keep you informed of relevant announcements in future.

Best regards

Paul
