HTC HD2 Review, Problems and Questions

Well now the HTC HD2 smartphone has been available for some time and has in the past seen a few problems such as an HTC update causing issues which led to HTC pulling the update, and then there’s also the issue with its digitizer which apparently damages the LCD.

The HTC HD2 has quite recently been compared with the HTC EVO 4G smartphone on video, which you can check out (here) to see how the HTC HD2 faired against the first 4G enabled device.

Also as you are probably aware, the HTC HD2 is stuck with Windows Mobile 6.5 OS and won’t be seeing an upgrade to Windows Phone 7 which in itself is somewhat of a downer. I happen to know someone who carries the HTC HD2 and although they say it’s a good looking smartphone, they don’t seem to be too pleased with the device as they say it continually freezes and has other problems.

So we’d like to know if any of our readership who has the HTC HD2 smartphone, like the device, and if so to send us their personal reviews of the handset. Or perhaps you have experienced a few issues with the device and wish to rant a little.

Maybe you have some unanswered questions concerning your HTC HD2. We’d like to hear from you, so feel free to drop us your personal review, problems or questions in our comments area below…many thanks.

Its a great phone however i also found that it freezes quite alot. I usually have to take the battery out to rest it as the littel red button is to small to press wit hyour fingers. The windows marketplace is also a big disappointment. I wish i had bought and iPhone instead!

    1. Alan says:

I have no problems at all and really like the phone. My only problem is with the battery-even from new it only lasted a day if you were lucky. It is now about 5 months old and the battery goes flat after about 4 hours-and that's if you don't use the phone! HTC support want me to return the phone, pay £20 for postage, and wait 3 weeks for the 'repair'!

    2. chris says:

Hey I had ths problem to. The reason this phone freezes is that if you have a bunch of apps running in the background it cant handle this and freezes up. You have to treat this phone like a computer. Windows has what is called task manager it shows what is running in the background. I found that i had a ton of stuff that i thought i exited out of that was actually still running in the background. So if you go to task manager on our phone and exit out of all those apps the phone runs great. Try it it worked for me. By the way Im on my 3rd HD2 and the only problem was in fact this little detail.

      1. Kelly says:

I've tried everything regarding the freezing and I have consistently been using the task manager, as well as deleting cookies and internet history. I still have major freezing (hours) and now it has been frozen since yesterday evening. I take out the battery and the touch still won't work. Sometimes the buttons will work but then all I can do is call the last person I called. Soooooo frustrated with it!!!!

  2. Rudy says:

The phone has massive issues, you cant even text without it freezing it is really annoying. I switched from the Mytouch to the HTC HD2 and now i regret it!!!!. But anyway i cant stay with this phone any longer so I pre-ordered my iphone 4 and will be leaving t-mobile soon due to there lack of worthy phones.

  3. Big Al says:

It's so far been pretty awesome for me. Plays all my music, movies, keep all my photos on it, has an awesome alarm program, TONS of apps if you know where to look. I easily have 2 dozen games on this, all of which pretty good for killing time. Internet is fast, no problem with t-mo's notorious coverage and the screen is amazing. Of course, I'm running a custom rom. Everyone who keeps the stock rom seem to have plenty of issues with their devices but not me. Did I mention the camera is pretty good as well?

    1. Dee says:

Please can you suggest what to do if the HTC HD2 keeps freezing? My phone has been sending random text messages to friends which was sent over a month ago and I cant see when they were sent.?

  4. Jeff says:

The phone is strapped with the Windows 6.5 OS and constantly freezes. I have probably pulled the battery out to recover from lock up over 100 times since getting the phone two months ago. The phone becomes especially sensitive when connect to Blue Tooth in the car or while on a call. The update HTC issued for the OS seemed to only make matters worse. Buyers remorse? Definitly! At this point i would just as soon take a Nokia track phone so I can get my calls.

  5. Gunter says:

Had no problems at all. Standard phone, standard ROM. Would like to upgrade to Window7 though but probably just for the sake of it. Could do with more apps, pity no Skype.

    1. John says:

Gunter, Skype is available for this phone. Head over to xda-developers for application. I have had it on my TMOUS HD2 since March and it works beautifully. Google Voice is also available via invitation. I've got both working in tandem on this device without any hiccups.

    2. alm says:

I think you work for t-mobile or HTC. This phone is a piece of crap. It is unreliable, when you need to make or receive a call it doesn't work. This phone with Windows mobile is not ready for prime time.

  6. dean says:

after the update i have no freezing issues what so ever… it's a great phone. stop bashing WIMO, the text reflow on a 4.3 inch screen is a sweet thing to have and can;t be beat!

  7. peterock56 says:

I've had the phone for 3 months and I've experienced some freezing, but nothing worth trashing the phone. This phone is awesome as it does everything I want it to do and more. I can wifi with amazing speeds – almost as fast as my Roadrunner connection. The google Maps GPS works great as do the rest of the installed aps. The blue tooth stereo works great with a head set and the phone interupts music and sounds great. Battery leaves a bit to be desired, but I keep charging devices on hand where ever I go. The big screen is awesome! I am very happy with this choice and it will be a long time before I get an iPhone or Windows 7 device when they come out. Windows 6.5 works just fine for me. I believe some of the problems people have with this device is setting up correctly. I hear there is a new update that fixed some of the freeze issues but I will wait on that as I have few issues right now. I installed the Bowman Pack Pro 2, BsB Tweaks and MyMobiler. I recommend these if you want to ge the most out of this device.

  8. John says:

I agree with many posts regarding the incessant freezing and texting issues. However, those issues are EASILY rectified. Head over to xda-developers and find out for yourself what can be done to and for this amazing device. I've flashed device with a custom ROM (Elegancia) which has eliminated the freezing/text issues altogether. It is much faster as well, thanks to the small 'footprint' this ROM has on the large memory. I've also added SPD Mobile Shell 3.5.5 which is awesome. If you haven't seen either of these running on an HD2, go find them. SPD and custom ROMs have virtually limitless customization and function without flaw daily. Since I've flashed these ROMs onto this device, I haven't had a single issue whereas before, it would require the battery to be yanked out at least 3x a day…which is pathetic. So, boring story short, from the factory it can be a disappointment. Give a little effort into truly making it unique and reflect your personal preferences (and adding a much needed cooked ROM) and this phone is everything you could ask for and more!

    1. Claudia says:

      Hi, John.
I'm really having problems with this phone. Tmobile is sending me a samsung vibrant after 3 hd2 replacements from them. So what exactly is that you did with your phone so it could work? I really don't want to give up this phone cause I love the looks on it but the speaker quits working (happened on all 3 replacements) and the screen keeps flashing. It lights up and then off and then crazy stuff. PLEASE HELP!!! Thank you!!!

      1. zavanna says:

        Claudia,
Ive been having the same problems with this phone and had it replaced 2x in store within the 30day exchange and 3x with customer service after the 30 day exchange. THey are offering me the Motorola Cliq XT or the Blackberry 9700! How were you able to get the samsung vibrant? That phone i would take any day over the HTC HD2 after all that i've experienced with this phone.

I love my hd2. unreal business tool. I love the swype …. I switched to t mobile to get it, and I am very impressed with the service in and around los angeles. I wad with att for many years and it is easily as good. the phone rocks. I cant figure out while everyone bags on it. when iwhip it out, the iphone people drool all over the big screen

  10. Marvin says:

Wow, What Can I Say???? The Phone Constantly Freezes,Delayed txt messages, cant even text bc it freezes to much, have to pull the battery out every 30 mins… over 30x a day, lets not forget I even updated the software… The Phone is Still rubbish…. I Hate This Phone…. I dont knw why the operating system wasnt the andriod market… windows is rubbish on dis phone……

  11. JoJo says:

My phone started to dial numbers at random while I was taking to my girlfiriend and again when I was talking to my sister…. It's a ghost………

    1. Winnie says:

We have 6 HTC HD2 phones on a business contract and everyone of them has randomly dialled numbers at some time. Mine did it whilst it was sitting on a cabinet, all alone !! Another has done it whilst sitting on the dinner table. We have quite a few problems with them
      JW

  12. CHINmaster says:

I am 7 hours away from buying this phone regardless of the bashing on these posts! I promise to get back to you in a few hours to let you know who here is really correct! …..BRB!

    1. Liz says:

Problem is….your experience does not prove right or wrong. Some of these phones are a problem, some are not. If you get a good one, good for you. I have a love/hate relationship with mine. Luck of the draw I guess.

  13. pete says:

after a few tweaks this is the best phone i have ever owned, from the factory not good ,it needs to be flashed with a cooked rom to get the full potential of this beast, loads off roms to choose from had an iphone before this but would not hold to the hd2 plus you aint tied to itunes, all the users who are having probs flash a custom rom and enjoy you will not regret it, waiting for the evo to arrive in the uk pass the hd2 on to the wife

  14. Charlie Y says:

on plus side the phone is a decent camera and decent screen. however the big screen is useless as the virtual keyboard (since there is no external qwerty keyboard) takes more than 80% of the screen rendering despite big screen, useless. Also the phone freezes far to often making it utterly useless. Contrary to HTC HD2 I found G1 quite easy to use and more handy. (even G2 is no match to G1 despite all the hype that G2 is faster than G1). If HTC would provide G1 with same screen as HD2 without G1 losing its current applications it would be ideal and best phone in the market in terms of usability and suitability.

  15. Analog Spirit says:

I had 2 HD2s; the 1st one was very glitchy; the keyboard and the notifications screen would sometimes pop up without me even touching the phone! Plus it had dust & debris underneath the glass on the screen, which was just unacceptable. It was probably just a defective unit, so I took it back.
I decided to give the HD2 another chance, and got another one, 'cos I love that screen and all the features it has. The 2nd one had no defects or issues, as far as I could tell. But the onscreen keyboard has several flaws which affect its usability for typing; the "Send" key is right there directly under the caps key, the comma key, and the space bar, so it's way too easy to accidentally hit the "Send" key when you're just trying to capitalize a word, or put in a comma. I ended up accidentally sending half-finished pieces of e-mails because of that. It was really frustrating. There didn't seem to be any way for me to alter the keyboard without maybe getting a custom ROM, which would've voided my warranty. They should've put the "Send" key inside the menu (i.e. press "Menu" then select "Send") so you won't have that problem. The e-mail system in WinMo 6.5 seemed very user-unfriendly, and it took way too many steps just to get to a saved draft that I wanted to work on, way more complicated than on my old BlackBerry. I loved everything else about the HD2, but that poorly-designed keyboard layout was something I just couldn't live with.
So, I reluctantly took it back too. Since T-Mobile had no other phones that I wanted to exchange it for, I just went back to my 3-year-old BlackBerry Curve, which is pathetic, I know. But at least my old BB does what I need it to do (tho not what I want it to do). So I'll have to wait til T-Mo comes out with another large-screen phone that better suits my needs as an e-mailing device.
    PEACE

i dont know what happend exactly……………..theme has been changed automatically and i cant c the original theme.even i cant open music player.

  17. Dog Eared says:

I'm not bashing the HD2 but WINMO is wrong! The new 7 is out-dated as soon as it comes out — who the hell is not considering multitasking nowadays.

My HD2 has many issues with freezing, hanging, and non-stop vibrating after messages come through.

I will investigate Android or iphone as I don't trust that brainless and useless bunch in Microsoft.

  18. Taliah says:

i did have an iphone 3g for about 18 months and when my upgrade was due i was so excited about getting the HTC HD2 it looked real nice and when i did go to O2 to check it out i was 100% sure i wanted it. ive had my HTC HD2 now about 3 months and to be honest im really dissapointed, i expected it to be exactly how it was desribed and i was expecting it to be alot better then my iphone, ive recently found out that it doesnt always send my messages. It shows on the screen that my message has been sent but the person that should recieve it never gets it, its also freezing constantly and im always having to take the battery out to put it back in again! i really wish id looked into the phone a little more before rushing in to get it, i do miss my iphone and i think i may consider getting the iphone 4

    1. Michelle says:

I totally agree with you! I got very caught up in the hype of this phone. I wanted to upgrade my phone but wasn't sure which phone I liked at that time. I had my eye on the iphone but wanted something to compare it with, thats when I came across the HTC HD2. So, instead of getting the iphone I bought the HTC HD2. Well, what can I say…The week after having this phone, I had issues. Freezing, delayed text messages, freezing, sending the wrong person text messages, freezing…I contacted TMobile…this is my third replacement. Still, I'm having the same issues. THIS PHONE JUST SUCKS! I really regret buying this phone. I am going to sell this phone for a dollar and get an iphone!

  19. great new unlocked cell phone. easy to use, love the huge screen. apps are great and the games are fun too. don't like the keys on bottom but that's ok. much better than my old piece of crap. email is good for my business and my wife loves hers for facebook and stuff. got ours at gsmallover.com and we love them. best unlocked phone so far this year in our opinion.

  20. neil says:

I have taken it back to O2 2nd time now. 1st time they just updated software. I come in bedroom and here phone talking ! Find brother rang me and it ANSWERED IT IT'S SELF !! Brother had been listening to
our conversation for 40 seconds or so. It also start doing things it's self while you watch it. Goes to vibrate
screen when you try to get out it jumps round several screens and then PHONES A TAXI IN ANOTHER COUNTRY – luvly !! try to cancel call as they answer and it goes round loop keeps calling them, like it is replaying key strokes. Take battery out temp fix till it does it again. Nice screen if it worked.

  21. Pedro says:

i've had my hd2 for a couple months. right off the bat as soon as i got it the first week it was freezing when i was texting and shutting itself down. being that it was so new and barely available i waited a bit to complain to customer service. i finally did last month and was told to do the update, which i did. unfortunately now i barely receive any media text messages. i mean i get them but most of the time it tells me they need to be downloaded. so i do it 2 3 4 times and nothing. i really like the phone. its just all this freezing and texting errors. its real disappointing.

  22. Scott says:

the HD2 phone has been very troublesome. My first phone crashed (operating system error) within two weeks of receiving it. T-Mobile replaced the phone at a corporate store and the new replacement unit crashed in two weeks. I am back to my blackberry while T-Mobile is sending me another HD2 in the mail. So far, I am not impressed with the HD2 as it has show to be completely unreliable- whether a operating system problem or not. I cannot fathom how any wireless provider markets a "smartphone" which is utterly unreliable.

  23. Ted says:

I have had my HD2 for about 10 months – think it was one of the first ones released in the UK. I have only had a few freezing problems with it in all that time. It seems from posts above that it is those phones locked to a particular network that have the major freezing problems. My phone is an unlocked one & has been great. Wouldn't want to change for any current alternatives. It is also true that there are 1000's of apps & lots of tweaks out there that can add to a user's experience on the HD2. Would agree about the custom ROM's & associated warranty issues so have stuck to the HTC's official updates. This phone is great & possibly more reliable if not locked to any network.

  24. Neil says:

I got mine in May this year and had nothing but problems with it, everything in the above posts from freezing, destroying 2 memory cards, making calls itself like it was lonely and wanted to talk to someone!, Anyway I have spent some time on thye xda forums done some fairly small tweeka and amazingly no more resets in over a month now!!, from wanting to smash it against a wall in frustration I now love this phone, it`s really fast has great gps etc. not the easiest phone in the world to operate but a fantastic phone it you give it a chance 🙂

  25. Jeremy says:

the htc hd2 is one of the best unlocked phones i've ever had. got this cell phone from gsmauthority.com last month. i love the huge touch screen. my kids love to steal it from me and play with all my apps too. it was a treat for all of us!

  26. Kevin says:

I have had the HD2 for a few months now. Fantastic phone, absolutely fantastic. The thing that is spoiling it for me though is battery life. 6.5 hours is a personal worst so far and I cannot get through a day without it running out. It does freeze a bit sometimes but this doesn't bother me too much. Also, considering it has a slide screen lock, it does all sorts of strange things in my pocket……

  27. I've had my HD2 for 5 months now and also experienced the same problems as the above posts.. it constantly freezes, texts r always delayed, emails with attachments don't seem to send! Very frustrating when texting and it decides to freeze on u! I'm always taking the battery out and putting it back in.. I now have an old phone that I keep with me that I can use if the wonderful HD2 decides to have a moment. On the upside, camera and vid r both fantastic, huge screen, easy to operate and fast. When it's behaving it's a great phone!!

  28. A1yla says:

Okay I love this phone BUT I am facing a few problems and if someone could help I'd really appreciate it.

Firstly, when I connect the phone to my laptop, the Microsoft office window pops up saying to type in the product key. I typed in the one I use for my laptop and i think it should have worked, but it didn't :S What can I do?

Secondly, I bought a 8gb SD card which is empty still but the device itself is near to full, when I try to open youtube it says, STORAGE FULL and it won't open. I am with o2 and I pay for my net so I wouldn't understand if it wasn't working due to my tariff.

Could someone please please help me. I really love this phone but because its kinda put me off now coz of this 🙁

  29. KRISTY says:

This phone is the worst piece of technology I have ever owned. I love the big screen and the phone worked wonderfully for the first 2 months. My 3rd replacement in 3 weeks will be here Tuesday. The first one (after I did the update) would completely turn off while i was talking then turn back on and freeze at the screen that says stick together or something like that in a pink box. i would take the battery off and try again and it would do this 5-7 times before it would actually work again. Took it into the store and they did 2 master resets. it did the same thing in the store. the second one i had 2 days before it started messing up. when i go to send a text, read or text, dial or do anything other than look at the home screen or answer a call it blinks to the correct screen and then goes away really fast. have done 4 master resets on this one. I can now not use it at all. I absolutely hate this phone and can't wait until my contract is up with tmobile. I had the G1 before this and replaced it 6 times in one year. and no I never dropped either phone or got it wet. it's clearly a software problem so if you have the phone GOOD LUCK

  30. Peter says:

This is a great phone if you like doing a hard format to your phone and to your minisd card. My advice is now that none of the mobile service providers, dont sell this phone ask yourself why. I will tell you why because it is the an extremly expensive load of C**P. already had 2 of them both of wich are crap even putting a new upgraded ROM on the phone will not solve the nemerous problems these phones have. Now I just need try ending a 2 year contract & geetting my money refunded. This wont be easy but If I have no success cancelling the contract I will have no other option than to go to the papers.

  31. Sean says:

If you want a phone with windows mobile on it, DO NOT buy or sign a contract for the HTC HD2 as you will regret it, Had 2 of them & am waiting of a third phone, the ROM in these are complete and utter Cr*P. If you love doing a hard reset to your phone every few weeks then you will like it , but I personaly wouldn't have the HD2 as a gift evan if itv was free. Also ask yourself Why the high street mobile phone companies no longer sell this parcel of SHIT. All I have had is Progs that fail to work. or work for afew weeks then need a H Reset to get them working again and this also includes the preinstalled stuff, So if you dont want any grief and dont wat to feel conned and ripped off by the big multinational phone service providers you will avoid the hd2 aka LEO like the plague.

  32. Soulard1 says:

I've had the HTC Hd2 for about 4 months now, and have not had a single problem with it. I guess I got lucky! I LOVE THIS PHONE! It does everything I want it to do, and then some. iPhones look like sh** compared to the HD2!

  33. Sandeep says:

When i stared synthrision on my htc hd2 it has hanged and when i switched on then it shows my lock code wrong and its locked now ,how i can unlocked it now

    1. Phil Mugari says:

You need to perform a hard reset. Turn the phone off. Whilst its off, press both the volume buttons simultenously and follow instructions on the screen

  34. Carolyn says:

When I talk on the HTC HD2 the phone will put people on hold or disconnect the call and sometimes call random people. It is so frustrating!! I'm really tired of it.

  35. Shawn says:

Yes, i got my htc hd2 for 2 weeks now and it seems like really fun phone to have. But dawm, i'm having a big issue with the voice commend icon keep popping up and makes beeping tones, and it also start dialing by itseft. Any body know how to fix this problem?

  36. What can I say about this phone?
I bought the first one… yes the first out of 3 that's how ridiculous this is. That was back in July 20th or so. Well the "integrated" SD card was full or missing. I called T-mobile customer service to tell them that some "brainy" person there forgot to put it in the phone. Turned out the SD card was there, it was just stupid. Second day this phone starts flashing on me. I was unable to to do anything with the phone while on the phone because the screen would light on and off on me. I had to wait a bit before this "oh-so-out-of-this-world" phone would let me touch it, which sounds ironic for a touch screen phone. Third day speaker function quits. I would tap on it and it was actually quieter than with no speakers. I called customer service we did the troubleshooting and manufacturer's reset…nothing! They decided to send me a second one. I was like "well I was unlucky with the first one but the second one will work for sure". It happened again, every single issue again! They send me the third one then, same problems. Tmobile suggested to go through the "pain-in-the-neck" software upgrade and it just made things worse! Imagine all those previous problems X 2. They're actually now sending me a Samsung Galaxy, we'll see how that goes. It's a pity cause I love the way this phone looks, it's super cool and pretty and everything I've dreamed on a phone. There's a catch though, it's simply glitchy.
I think it's super bizarre that 3 phones in a row from the same manufacturer for 1 individual only have the same problems over and over. HTC customer support doesn't know anything either…of all people!
Bottom line: Lovely phone but I wish some random person could tell me how to make it work because the "creators" and sellers are incapable to do so.

    1. guest says:

no i just got mine. funny cause the kid at tmobile warned us about them. i thought he was just trying to get us to buy a more expensive phone. I had my eye on the htc for a while. I have only had it for about 3 days and its already giving me grief! sending me repeat emails over and over. not letting me get in to certain programs. MAN i feel like an idiot!! i thought it was a beautiful phone too. i love the big screen!!! my eyes are bad ha! gonna take it back! not worth the trouble!

  37. jo b says:

I've had it a month and i hate it.
shocking: battery life, screen invisible in sunlight, typing slow and error ridden, confusing interfaces, if you read messages in inbox mode the text and tiny and cannot be resized. Browsing slow, occasional freezing, have to hit it to get screen to rotate, battery runs down overnight. This is not the future of phones. Luckily its a work freebee, but so annoying and clunky to use, never sure when its online or not, cant use a stylus with it, so a nightmare when browsing, try and click a button on a webpage, no chance… ITS RUBBISH !!

  38. serioComic says:

the phone is good, its the OS that sucks!! No matter how good the phone looks, or with 1001 features, if its on WINMO then just forget about it. Those guys there have no clue how to make a good OS. Android came along less than 2 years and it has beaten WINMO flat on its stinking face!!

  39. JS808 says:

Great phone. There are thousands of apps available if you take the time to look ONLINE and not in the WM Marketplace. Currently running a custom ROM and Android 2.2 on a dual boot, best of both worlds. There is nothing close to this device on the market.

  40. Louis says:

I replaced my iPhone with the HD2, it has never frozen in the 4 months I have had it. The camera is very good ,the phone quality is excellent, it tethers easily and without having to pay an extra £30/month (unlike Apple) and the 3G reception is first class.

My gripes (small as they are) are the flaky Winmo Synch app and the rather limited number of apps available compared to the iPhone.

This is one of the best phones I have ever owned

  41. jess says:

I just bought this phone tonight. It hangs up constantly on the internet, in smses and facebook posts the words are often incomplete yet I *know* I typed out the entire words, the photos size themselves, and to make matters worse, I cannot download new apps to the phone because the touch screen doesnt want to work on the android website. Im so frustrated and cant do a thing with this phone because a friend of mine hated it and sold it to me to get rid of it. Now I know why. I wanted to give the phone a chance and literally threw money away.

  42. Ray ray says:

my HD2 keeps locking up. Last month took it in they gave me a new battery worked good for a week. then from that week on like clock work the phone would lock up every friday or saturday. I pull the battery and The phone will not turn on, just vibrates for a milli sec. When it does start up it locks up at the T Mobile screen. any one have this problem and if so what have you done?

  43. chase says:

ive had this phone for 2 and a half months and it is already destroyed. in the beginning it was slow and glitchy but now i am unable to slide the bar across the screen so i can even turn it off. i dont know what to do with it. it might be just a defective phone.

  44. JOHNB says:

i have had ny HTC HD2 SINCE MARCH, ITS THE WORST PHONE I HAVE EVER HAD, GOODNESS KNOWS HOW MANY TIMES IT FREEZES. ITS THE MOST FRUSTRATING PHONE EVER, I USE MINE FOR BUSINESS AND PEOPLE THINK I DONT WANT TO TALK TO THEM AS IT FREEZES ON ANSWER.
I HAD A IPHONE FOR TWO YEARS MY REGRET IS THAT I DIDNT KEEP IT.
MY SECOND MOAN IS WHEN I WENT TO PHONES 4 US I WAS TOLD THAT IN THE AREA WERE I LIVE VODAPHONE WAS THE STRONGEST SIGNAL FOR 3 G, ITS CRAP, I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH O2 OR TMOBILE. IL NOT GET CAUGHT AGAIN. WISH I COULD GET OUT OF IT, NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE

  45. Malnoh says:

I have a HTC HD2 from carphone warehouse and both companies are complete muppets!

Returned it five times now to repair the same faults, namely freezing and non-stop vibrating, and the problems just keeps coming back.

Returned it direct to HTC twice and CPW says no, we don't recognised that as it is not in our computer so you have to send the phone via CPW. Then why the hell do CPW suggest that you should send it to the manufacturers direct?!?!!? Well, let's see if the courts will recognise my email printouts you dorks!

Last try for these muppets and I will find a solicitor.

stay away from this phone. it is unreliable, it locks up all the time, battery life is only 1 hour or maybe 2. Nice in concept but terrible in real life situations. Basic functions like being able to make call don't work as the phone locks up. If you're a business user don't count on this phone for reliable communications, it will leave you stranded. Stick to BlackBerry instead.

Just bought this phone 3 days ago! taking the piece of junk back!!! ugh so frustrating!!!! freezes up! wont let me send emails. sends me repeat emails over and over again. i wanted to love this phone! love the big screen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! miss my iphone!

  48. alm says:

This is the worst phone ever made. Nice in concept, however It freezes up 80% of the time, battery life is only 3 to 4 hours, you have to disable most features in order to save battery life. I consider it to be even dangerous if your need to make a call in an emergency situation it won't work as it is frozen. There should be a class action law suit against HTC for releasing a product to market not being ready for prime time. It is not a feasible device for a business user, stick to BlackBerry instead.

I had the hd2 and fell in love with the idea of the phone ,but freezes constantly ,problems with the media player player ,then I got robbed and the phone stolen , then after arguing w the insurance (they will only send me a phone, battery ,and charger, no micro sd , nor head phones) I had to renew contract w t-mo after 2 months because they were offering me crapy phones and got the vibrant ,a great phone but it doen’t have the feeling of d hd2 it feels so light and fragile does’t have a flash like the samung facinate(verizon) which is the same phone plus flash but now after 3weeks I got use to and love the vibrant plus is android, it has 16gb integrated memory (only about 12 available) plus 2gb micro sd with avatar and for those black berry lovers it offers a keyboard aranged like the bb the only thing that s**k is the alarm clock

  50. logan says:

wow i actually like this phone. my new hd2 is really nice. i mean it's not perfect but it has it's good with it's bads. i like my new unlocked world phones. screen is nice and responsive. i don't like the buttons on the bottom and it's kind of big but i'll keep it. processor is faster, email is great for my business, the web browser is great for navigating and keeping up on my facebook and fantasy football. much better than my old unlocked at&t phones. my wife loves hers for the games and camera to catch all the kids and their moments. she loves her new unlocked t-mobile phones. my daughter takes great pictures with hers and my partner likes his for the gps and business apps. and the games are fun too. got my last couple unlocked cell phones at gsmauthority.com and 2 thumbs way up

  51. Rob says:

Had one since May. O2 standard shipping, not updated the ROM Like the screen, the interface is OK, and not had too much freezing – no more than Friends on iPhones. Reception better than Iphones, and when the phone works it's fast, and purely brilliant. Lacking in easy to find apps, which is a bore having to hunt them out, unlinke iPhone and Android where they find you.
Windows however syncs all fields (tasks, calendar, contacts) with outlook brilliantly – even better if you have an exchange server. If you use outlook and rely on it, then WINMO is the phone platform to use.
Have had tons of problems with dropped calls, this phone HATES losing 3G, and if it does then big problems happen. Screen really sensitive, and can explain the repeated calling as commands get buffered and executed much later.
Worst point is battery life (or death). Not a good phone for being on site with, getting about 2 hours talk time, 8-10 hours standby on an average day. There are bigger batteries available but they mean you cant use leather cases to prevent screen being pressed and random calls being made.
I would stick well clear unless prepared to spend some time playing with settings on this phone, a few registry tweaks to take off some of the HTC software on calendars and contacts speeds up the phone completely. Can remove HTC sense, and watch it fly – but then lose half the "fun" bits of the phone.
Build quality is always poor on HTC devices, as is longevity. Be prepared to swap out and get repaired (my USB socket has gone), several times during a two year contract… If you get a good one try to hold on to it, when it does break if you get another it might be completely different.
Have downgraded to an LG Prada 2, and love it, a phone that actually works as a phone!

  52. Beth says:

I have had my HD2 since May and I am definitely disappointed. I have to remove the battery and reset the phone everyday. Even though I clear cookies, cache, and history at least 3 times a day, it still freezes up. It's most annoying when it freezes during an incoming text or call (constant vibration until it unfreezes). Now my phone has become picky about text messages. It shows that my outgoing message sent but several hours later I find out it was unable to send. Several friends and family thinking they're being ignored when I don't know if my message really went out. I spent top dollar for this phone and renewed my contract with TMobile and now I'm thinking of scraping it for an IPhone.

  53. David says:

I hetw my HTC HD2 – many issues with it. from freezing to I can't hang up when finish with a call. DO NOT BUY! Battery drains very fast. wish I had never bought it.

  54. Loriana says:

I purchased the HTC HD2 a few months back and the first thing that I noticed was the battery life was extremly poor. I have to charge my phone every day, even sometimes twice a day and I don't even use it that much unless I'm texting or on the phone. My phone has got so bad over the last few months that its been freezing every day and also it switches itself on and off all the time. The apps are cool, but i don't really need them as I have a computer at home with MSN and FB etc. Overall i am dissapointed with the HTC as i had high expectations for it. I would rather go back to my Samsung E600 to be honest.

  55. Malachy says:

i thought i got everything i needed in a phone when i bought the HTC_HD2.at first it was working really fine and i never for once thought it will sooner or later start giving me problems..as i am writing this post,i still don't wanna look at the phone because i might just smash it on the wall..Really it's getting me crazy. It freezed for like four days now and despite all the reset,it would't work..i am so confused rightnow and dont know what to do..

  56. HD2 NIGHTMARE says:

I BROUGHT THE HD2 IN MAY…..AS OF TODAY THIS IS THE 4TH HD2 THAT T-MOBILE HAS SENT ME. I AM SO DISSAPOINTED WITH THIS PHONE. THE FIRST PHONE WOULD COME ON FOR AN HOUR AT THE MOST AND FREEZE. THE USUAL TAKE THE BATTERY OUT DIDNT HELP. I DID THE UPGRADE AND IT MADE IT WORSE. I WOULD USE THE PHONE FOR A WHILE AND THEN A BLACK SCREEN WOULD COME UP WITH THE BLUE RED AND GREEN STRIPES. THE SECOND PHONE MUST HAVE HAD A BAD ANTENNA. I DROPPED CALLS LIKE A RAIN SHOWER. I COULD NEVER CONNECT TO THE INTERNET. I DIDN'T EVEN DO THE UPGRADE BECAUSE IT WENT BACK NO SOONER THAN I WHEN I RECIEVED IT. THE THIRD PHONE I IMMEDIATELY DID THE UPDATE TO NO AVAIL. MY SCREEN STILL FROZE WHILE TEXTING. AND TO TOP IT OFF AFTER TWO WEEKS OF HAVING IT MY SPEAKER STARTED GOING. IT LITERALLY HURT MY EARS TO ANSWER A CALL. NOW

  57. HD2 NIGHTMARE says:

THIS 4TH PHONE WHICH I DID UPDATE IS GOING CRAZY. I HAVE LITTLE TO NO SERVICE IN MY HOUSE WHICH WAS NOT A PROBLEM WITH THE LAST PHONE. MY TEXTING STILL FREEZES AND TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE WHEN I RECIEVE CALLS SOMETIMES THE PHONE RINGS FOR A SECOND AND THEN THE SCREEN GOES BLACK. IT DOES IT MULTIPLE TIMES IN A ROW AND IT WONT ALLOW ME TO ANSWER. WHEN IT FINALLY STOPS THE CALL LOG SHOWS THAT I HAD 10 AND SOMETIMES MORE CALLS FROM THAT NUMBER. THIS BY FAR IS THE WORST PHONE EXPERIENCE I'VE HAD. UNFORTUNATELY THE I CAN BARELY USE THE PHONE BUT THE SCREEN IS GREAT. I AM AFRAID TO DOWNLOAD APPLICATIONS BECAUSE OF THE FEAR THAT THE PHONE WILL GET WORSE. TO TOP IT OFF T-MOBILE HAS DONE LITTLE TO NOTHING TO HELP IN THE MATTER. I AM AT MY THE END OF MY ROPE FOR THIS PHONE AND I DON'T WANT IT ANYMORE. I'VE BEEN WITH T-MOBILE FOR 6YRS AND I HAVE 3 LINES ALL OF WHICH HAVE DATA AND MESSAGE SERVICES.

  58. HD2 NIGHTMARE says:

NEEDLESS TO SAY I AM EXTREMELY UPSET WITH HOW THEY ARE TREATING MY PHONE ISSUES, YET ALL THEY CAN SAY IS THERE IS NO ALTERNATIVE PHONE AT THIS TIME BUT WE WILL SEND ANOTHER HD2. SMH. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO AT THIS POINT I DON'T WANT ANOTHER HD2 AND I DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO SHELL OUT ANOTHER $200+ FOR A PHONE. I SHOULD HAVE STUCK WITH MY G1.

  59. Liam says:

I bought the HTC HD2 in May to avoid buying the common iPhone and because I wanted to sync with outlook. Aesthetically it is a beautiful thing but unfortunately, it has started to freeze regularly and unpredictably, requiring me to take out the battery up to 10 times a day. I really feel that this phone is not fit for purpose. I am very disappointed by it. I recommend as an average user, that you avoid it.

  60. Brenda says:

I have had my HDC HD2 for about 6 months and it has been in for repair twice now…. It freezes quite often and loses the signal quite often. It is good in that I can run navigational software on it, but it is no good if it loses the signal when I am negotiating a difficult journey.
HTC Repair centre were helpful, but I have found this time that they have refused to repair a part under warranty unless I pay £120.00. They say they must repair the whole phone or not at all.
I wouldn't get another phone and would tell others to steer clear.

  61. jAZZ says:

THIS PHONE HAS GOTTEN ON MY LAST FUCKIN NERVES…THIS IS MY THIRD ONE…THEY ALL FREEZE AND OR TURN OFF AND ON ON THIR OWN….FOR IT 2 COST SO MUCH U WOULD THINK IT WOULD BE WORTH THE RETAIL…I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THE PRODUCT AND WOULD NEVER GET A WINDOWS TOUCHSCREEN PHONE AGAIN….WHEN I RECEIVE TEXT MESSAGES THE PHONE FREEZES….WHEN INCOMING CALLS COME WHILE BEING ON THE PHONE HALF THE TIME THE PHONE WOULD NOT DISPLAY WHO CALLED….THE INTERNET WAS OKAY BUT OTHER THAN THAT I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PHONE TO ANYBODY….TMOBILE NEEDS TO DISCONTINUE THIS BULL SHIT ASS PHONE

  62. Rockafella says:

I love my HTC HD2…. Mine use to freeze every day-2 days but I kept with it and soon enough there was a software update and it has pretty much sorted it, only happens now when the phone is trying to do too much all at once, which to be fair… I shut down when I do to much lol. Found a nice Slide to call app for it – pretty much a copy from the iPhone but its cool – its got a free trial – so worth a go…. I ended up buying it after a mate called someone by mistake while on holiday.

  63. Whitey says:

Probably the worst phone to try compose a text with it constantly picks up wrong characters and all sorts freezes if you try use it for its designed capacity, it could have been a great phone better than the iphone but its just not

  64. willie says:

can someone help me, my hd2 keeps changing the time itself and thus makes it an unreliable device for alarms and appointments etc. is the phone being activated in my pocket (which often happens) and my body movements scroll up and down through the hours. the minutes never get changed. this started to occur after our daylight saving time was adjusted at the end of oct. is it a hardware or software problem? there should be only one countersunk power button – like the xda 2i. otherwise a serious piece of kit.

  65. fran6 says:

well, this saves me the pain of having experience it myself. i truely love the design but was a bit skeptical about it durability/capability.

    anyway, thanks all.

  66. Adsy says:

My HD2 also keeps reverting back to BST. It also freezes (mostly overnight if i've put it on charge). The alarm doesn't make the right alarm tone I choose, it no longer locks just by pressing th power button (I now have to press and hold the power button and then manually choose lock phone) and text messages I send take nearly a week to get through to people! Could it just be my phone???

  67. Adrian says:

I have reached the capacity of my patience with this phone as well. I purhcased it on the first day they were available and was excited…for about 10 minutes. It immediately started having issues. It orginally had freezing issues , but the most frustrating are the connection and video/photo problems. It seems like everytime I browse my photos the thing freezes and wants to send an error message to Microsoft. Even after the software update the phone continued to disappoint.

Fed up I requested and received a replacement phone…no luck. This one still pretty much blows. I'm going to get another type of phone now, probably the MyTouch and I hope it's much better on the Android platform. Simply put, the HD2 is too expensive to have these issues.

  68. Phil Crescent says:

Really wish I had looked on here a month ago

Had an iPhone 3 for past 2 years and really happy with it and should have upgraded to an iPhone 4 when I had the chance. Instead, I went for the HD2…mistake!

problem 1: After 'microsofting my mobile', the music icon on the home screen no longer worked. If I pressed the icon (little green note) the phone would frezze for 30 seconds and then go back to the home screen

problem 2: after 2 weeks the handset would decide to restart itself…in the middle of calls, or typing texts/emails, taking photos, listening to music…anything. It would restart itself about 20 times,, even after removing battery and pressing reset button….v v annoying

problem 3: when listening to music while running, it would be OK for the first 20 or 30 minutes. Then it would almost go into song preview mode by playing 10 seconds of a song before jumping to the next song…highly irritating, especially on a 2 hr run

and last, but not least, problem 4: this morning the phone gave out altogether. It switched itself off and when I try to restart it, it would vibrate and then nothing, nada, zilch.. except for an intermittent series of vibrates…gggggrrrrr. So, as it's only 1 month old I took it to the shop where I bought it to ask for a replacement. They gave me a flat no and said that although HTC may give a 12 month guarantee, they don't. Unfortunately for them I don't take that kind of crap. Told them that I gave them my money and they gave me a crap phone…doesn't matter what they say about their policy. Long story short, I came away from the shop with a new HD2 and a written guarantee that if this one packs in within 1 month they will give me back my money…so far (6 hours), so good..but I'll let you know what happens

  69. Justin says:

Horrible phone! Constantly freezes when receiving text messages, freezes at random times. Makes random calls. Constantly losing 3G. Freezes when I try to unlock the screen. I have had to remove the battery maybe 100 times in the past month. At multiple times it has completely shut down and wouldnt come back on when fully charged.

  70. pmugari says:

I have had HTC HD2 since February 2010. I have just lost the phone by dropping it and its screen got shattered. In the last two months of its life, the screen was starting to lose colours. It appeared as if its a loose connection. I performed 2 hard resets when it got confused about the password and would not recognise it. Other than that, I had to do a factory reset more than 8 times losing all my data, settings and contacts. It had problems picking network in certain areas in my country were there was no 3G, but with recent upgrade of the network, the problem was naturally solved. I particularly liked the feature where it worked as a wi fi router itself and can get 3 or more computers on the internet. The freezing started to get worse with age and I found out that it was related to the screen problems that it has. When the screen malfunctions, the phone freezes. . Technically the problem with this phone is its screen, not the software. Its a hardware issue. Sadly I purchased this device in Hong Kong, and I live in Zimbabwe, i do not have the luxury of taking it back to anyone. I have since dug a hole and buried it. If HTC can improve on these major short falls, I think they made a great phone.

  71. Sim says:

I must say I'm disappointed, I've had a windows phone since the Orange SPV C600 and I loved the slide out keyboard of the Tytan II. But I was tempted away from my Tytan II to the HD2 by its iphone-esque styling and it's monster specifications (including the fruitless rumour they were going to port it to WM7). I was looking forward to owning one but the honeymoon did not last long, I live in the UK so the Microsoft Market place is pretty much useless to me as they either want me to register a credit card (I don't have nor want one) or they say to talk to my network provide to pay through my bill which V******* basically said get stuffed. So no apps for me aside from free ones that I can download – very few, very low quality. On top of this the aforementioned reliability issues have become very vexxing. I'm off to Apple to get an iBorg4, at least I can crash with loads of apps

  72. david says:

right, i know there has been a lot of ranting about how rubbish this phone is, but this is all correct. I have had mine for a few months now and it has just practically died today. Always freezes, cant even write a text without it freezing, i regret buying it. It took me a week to delete my texts!!! i have given it a chance, i have put up with it for a while but now im fed up. this phone is definitely not wirth the money im paying for it.

    1. Pete42 says:

Piece of crap phone!! crashes, jumps out of screen lock and now it doesn’t update call history..   No problems on my iPhone which is 2 years old

  73. harry says:

My fone language has changed 2 arabic , i dont no if i had touch anything but now i can not turn it back to english. is there any one could help me out please

  74. Kelly says:

Had it for 10 months and I've spent the first two and the last three dealing with freezing. Sometimes it's just 10-20 seconds when receiving a text and as of now it's been 16 hours… T-Mobile tells me to delete this and that, which I do constantly (always clearing task manager, deleting texts, deleting apps, clearing cookies and internet history) and the freezing is just getting worse. Other than that I love the phone, but it's already a pain to have to delete things constantly not to mention that it still won't work!

  75. Danny says:

I've had the HTC HD2 for 8 months now and ive run into many of the same problems that everyone else is having. Constant freezing, delayed texts (when i recieve a text, it freezes for about 15-20 seconds until i technically recieve it.) Very poor marketplace, the keyboard is really difficult to use. I'm constantly hitting keys i dont want to hit. Now the latest thing is, I recieved a text about 30 hours ago, it froze my phone and i havent recieved a text, facebook update, etc. since. Very frustrating phone. It has awesome features and i love the HTC layout, but overall its disappointing. Unfortunately, I will be switching soon.

I have an htc hd2. This is the third one.. The software is a Complete ISSUE… This is a great looking phone.. I have'nt loaded anything in the new one I got two weeks again and here it is Christmas eve well early christmas morning and i pick up my phone to text Santa Has been here… LOL and the freaking phone wont turn on. When I finally get it to come on its stuck in a freaking start up loop.. Now im online finding this also is a COMMON issue amongst all the other issues HTS HD2 has…. BUMMER.. T mobile wants to put me in a blackberry 7200.. That's what the rep told me 2 days ago when I called about not being able to get MMS messages… if it ain't one thing its a BLEEPING nother… Other than that the phone LOOKS good… LOL

  77. Nur says:

Hi guys. I really need help. I have been using HD2 for 8 months without any problem. I used it with phone lock and password. All of the sudden today after I switched off my phone and when I turned it on back, the password couldn't open my phone! What should I do?

  78. TMobilesux says:

I got the HD2 when it first came out for 1/4 the original price. Honestly, I'm glad I only paid 1/4 the price for the phone because it is not that great. It has truly been a disappointment. Not to mention the absolute worst coverage I have ever had (T Mobile). I don't know if its the phone or t mobile, but I miss so many calls and never have any reception. I would rather have Cricket than T Mobile. Don't get me wrong the phone has some really cool features, but just doesn't function well at all.

  79. roland says:

i just got my htc hd2 a couple of weeks ago and id experienced that i cant open my locked passcode after 3 days i just off my phone and when i turned on it appears " stick together" and its totally stick on that view all day long and i do a soft/hard reset it did not came back to its factory settings now my phone is in the repair shop and they cant do anything unless to throw it anybody can help me i love HTC HD2 A LOT…

  80. djbunz says:

for me, the phone freezes A LOT like i mean a lot when i try playing music it freezes or takes a long time to load, when ever i get a incoming message and im doing something on the phone lets say like browsing the web (which is also slow)and what not it will freeze and might stay like that and im forced to take out the battery. i like the setup and everything and texting wit it but the freezes get pretty bad id suggest not to buy this phone

  81. Davo says:

Had the HTC HD2 for about 9 months now and only have a couple of complaints. Battery Life sux – but kind of expected as I do a lot of data downloading plus playing music at the same time. Still, it should last at least 8 hours, but doesn't.
Another thing to improve would be the internal memory of the phone. Memory is not exactly expensive anymore, why couldn't they make this phone with more ROM? I have added an micro SD card, but would prefer to have more internal memory as the programs seem to use internal memory.
Third thing (not that the Iphone 4 has this either) is have a hard button for the camera to take photos. Almost impossible to take a photo of yourself as you have to touch the screen. Also, the camera quality is not as good as the Iphone 4. (I've compared with a few Iphone 4 already and the quality of the Iphone4 beat the HTC HD2. 🙁
Other than these 3 small issues, the phone is perfect.

  82. Davo says:

O, for those who have having MUSIC error problems (the error report screen pops up) try to Sync your music with your computer and not simply copy and paste the music.
I found that I had the same problem, but it was due to one or two mp3s that were corrupt. These problematic mp3s played on my computer with no problems, but it appears to be corrupt as once i removed them from the phone, the music player worked perfectly.
    Give it a go….

  83. peanut says:

definetly the wrost phone ive had in that it being reliable, technically it is an unreal phone with the amount of software it has and what it is capable of, BUT…….it reguarly freezes so i have to take the battery out, the battery life itself is lucky to last a day, the camera is shockingly bad and alot of pictures are smudged and blurry, the internet speed is rarely fast obviously depending where i am and the internet itself decides to work when it wants to. i am currently with o2 and they themselves do not have a clue about the phone, when the update for the txt messages was released on the htc website o2 didnt even tell me about it i have to ask a friend who had the same phone, furthermore every problem i have with it i ring o2 and they tell me to speak to carphone warehouse as they sold me the phone and then i go to them and they say go back to o2. o2 repaired my phone when they shouldnt have so any problems with teh phone i cannot return it to carphone warehouse because the IP number was changed when repaired. this phone is a massive dissapointment

  84. Jeremy says:

T-mobile is doing a great job trying to control the damage from the HTC HD2. I am on my third phone and and no longer able to exchange for a non-defective version. Stay away from this phone.

  85. Toufic says:

When I get an sms , my HTC HD2 T8585 just lights on, no sounds no Message Tone even when I assign a message tone.I tried everything but still can't get a Message tone.

  86. Vince says:

Way too many issues straight out of the box. It freezes up often and has quite a few other quirks. Texts have to be cleared out often or it will cause freezing when a new text arrives…sometimes requiring a complete restart or over a minute of waiting. With many people using cell phones in place of land lines, it would be a bit worrysome to depend on it in the event of an emergency.

Disconnecting from a phone call takes forever, as well. It's easy to accidentally dial a recent number when you are simply trying to view a profile or go through your phonebook. I've done this many times and it completely locks out any input made in an attempt to end the call ("End Call" on touchscreen or red button on phone).

Aside from this, I'm impressed by the features and capabilities. It would just be nice if it could perform basic phone/text tasks as well as the $20 phone I had previously.

  87. Jeff says:

The HTC HD2 I have is rubbish too. I wanted a phone/camera/modem. This thing might be packed full of neat features but they are of no use if they are in a pile of smashed phone on the concrete.
Spasm's of freezing and not resettting after removing the battery, starting up in my pocket while locked, hanging up on calls when anoter call comes in, randomly redialling last number, don t know about the web browser as didnt have the patience to figure out why it insisted in hijacking me to the other side of the world for a local business.
Dont really care about the how's and whys, I expect a phone to work straight out of the box, not have to become a scientist to work the thing.

  88. My HTC HD2 , is not receiving E mail. I keep getting the following message:-

“The security certificate on the server is not valid. Contact your Exchange server administrator or ISP to install a valid certificate on the server.”I

Other phones ( I phone, Black Perry ….etc ) has no problem they can receive e mails, only when i use the HTC HD2, i will get such message.

    ADVISE?

  89. It’s an absolute DOG of a phone, I have to use one for work and I hate it intensely, i’ve actually never come across anything so utterly useless. My profitability is based on wether I receive calls and information through and app the deals with multiple service calls and scheduled tasks and in 6 months i’ve not had one day where it’s worked from start of work to finish. It crashes regularly, it can’t be cradled on the shoulder as it disconnects, it freezes more than it crashes and the tones and notifications are total TRIPE…if I could drop it in a bath of water “Accidentally on Purpose” and get a decent phone right away, you’d be hearing the splash right about 5 months ago…

My Tmobile Htc Hd2 has been freezing constantly for months. Even a hard reset does not fix the problem. I’ve removed the Sense software and unchecked as many extra options as I could find, but it really isn’t usable for any period of time. I’ve also replaced the micro sd card with a “4” speed which doesn’t seem to do anything to cure the issue. I’ve spoken to HTC on several occasions and they say they are sorry but essentially deny that such a problem exists. NO MORE HTC phones for me…ever.

I have had my HTC HD2 for a month now, well at first it was okay until it started freezing and the only option I had for receiving calls was using the call button but now the problem has gotten worse that even removing and replacing the battery cant help any more, thinking of loading up a new ROM but the procedure is a bit complicated as suggested by the Unlocker website and I’m scared that I would just damage the phone more, Can any one help with straight forward instructions on how to load a new ROM. I hear this freezing problem is only associated with windows phones only, Android phones don’t have such issues. Would really like to try the HTC Desire HD

hi there. I had my htc phone unlocked after too many pattern attempts, bought a brand new sim card now I’m not able to call out on my number. Could you possibly help me?

  101. Leroy says:

Well I have had it for nearly 18 months now.

I’ have had the freezing and , phantom number calling. That I put down to screen reading touches while in my pocket as request to ring someone.

The slow down, in say loading txt threads is due to the fact that win mobile 6.5 has trouble loading threads if goes into the thousands.

My screen finally stopped responding to my touch, I sent it in under repair, and they sent me back a phot of someones fingers pointing at a IC chip saying that it was sign of moisture damage and therefore could not be economically repaired. I have never dropped my phone in water, it has had a piece of plastic on the screen to proctec the surface from scratches and aprat from cleaning fuild, to get rid of smudges, no liquid has touched it. The cleaning fluid being alcholo based, not water.

Will get it repaired locally , and will probally get it done, for about £20 to £30 and then use it to try out andriod or win mobile 7 as quite frankly win mobile 6.5 is rubbish and should never have been used for this phone.

I just got mine, and it would start to charge, and come up to the pink and white screen. It would sit there for a second, then it would have some numbers pop up at the bottom and turn off. Any ideas how to fix it?

Had my htc desire for 18 months and had no problems until last night. It’s my sons phone and he says he has not dropped it, it’s got a bar code that covers the whole screen and cannot get anything else. Took battery out for a few mins still the same any ideas anyone?

It is a crazy phone indeed. I cnt send pictures when it looses 3G. And the voice command comes on and won’t turn off at certain times. The phone cost alot of money to have this sort of problem. When it loses 3G I have to delete stuff or RESET MY PHONE COMPLETELY. When I reset the phone I just save my contacts to my sim card. But its just a stupid phone I can’t stand it.
