HTC Desire Android 2.2 OTA Update On Its Way
The latest rumour hitting the net wave is that the HTC Desire smartphone should gain the Android 2.2 update over the air sometime within the next two weeks, and this has apparently been confirmed.
According to Andrew over on Fonehome, an XDA-Developer forum member says he is in receipt of confirmation from HTC support that the HTC Desire will see the Android 2.2 update over the air within the next two weeks.
Apparently here is the full quote from HTC that forum member jonnobright received …“Thank you for contacting us in regards to your flash player issue. Within the next 2 weeks HTC wil release the Android 2.2 OS over the air. The will enable the lastest version of Adobe Flash Player on your device and will resolve any exisiting issues.”
Personally I’m not too sure if this is an actual communication from HTC support, the reason being one would assume the HTC support people can at least spell correctly, and if you notice in the quoted communiqué there are several spelling errors such as “wil” “lastest” and “exisiting.”

first hooo, its an excellent phone and how well you presented its features, i and my son really like it and soon i will change it with my samsung, becasue i my fed up my samsung phone
More unsubstantiated link bait. If it wasn’t for bloggers constantly passing off poorly worded fake emails as news, Htc owners wouldn’t be half as hacked off. Still; it keeps your advertisers happy.
This is 100% true!!! I also contacted them, and they confirmed android 2.2 will be released for the HTC desire 'very, very soon'. I don't really care if the likes of 'Emstro' don't believe me, it is all true!!! Just wait if you don't believe, you won't be disappointed 🙂
Looks like I have just got it, although I had to do a factory reset for it to prompt me.
It will be released OTA on the 1st October, for the HTC Desire. We need wait for a generally working version first whcil be released for Nexus, then it will be tested for HTC Sense, then will be available.
I emailed HTC the on Tuesday the 23rd of June and this is the reply.
“Hello Thank you for contacting us. In regards to 2.2 update I can help you with that. We cannot comment on what devices may or may not get an update just yet. Any announcements will be made through our Website, Facebook page and Twitter feed. Please keep an eye on these channels for any updates regarding your handset. I trust that this resolves your query, please do not hesitate to contact us again if required. Thank you for contacting HTC. Kind Regards Harika K. HTC

I see a little frustration of the author of this post, not being the first one to post the news… and discredit the post in another forum… and look for allies… you should work for a news channel… or into politics…
