iPhone 4 Stock Limited in UK, Get Yours?

No doubt as this is ‘go get my lovely iPhone 4’ day, many in the UK have paid a visit to their chosen store to go get the device, stand in line and wait patiently for the store to open and then the mad rush, but did you manage to get yours?

According to an article over on Fonehome by Andrew and by way of Techdigest, you may not have been able to get your iPhone 4 because apparently rather than the expected 60,000 iPhone 4 units being available in the UK there are only 16,000.

Apparently one major UK retailer has said that roughly a quarter of the iPhone 4 units for the UK were delivered. So with just 16,000 units to go round someone is going to be very disappointed as the shortage isn’t just confined to Apple stores.

So as a large portion of iPhone 4 stock seems to be missing, did you manage to get yours, or are you one of the unlucky ones who had to go away disappointed? Feel free to let us know by posting in our comments area.

I work for a major phone retailer we hadn’t been sent any iphone 4s for the launch day I myself have been wanting one but was told staff are banned from ordering or even having an iphone 4 till further notice. We had quite a large queue of people waiting outside for some time to tell them all we had no stock. I would assume alot of apple fans out there are having the same issues today. Just looks like we will all have to wait

    Couldn't get mine, sadly 🙁
Steve Jobs and the other fruit guys are starting to get on my nerves!!
Ok we all now know about their marketing strategies, limiting stocks on release dates seems to be a good habit of theirs… But still, by letting people get it and comment on it, they'd get so many more positive comments – not like the angry crowd I see on Twitter and Facebook right now!
    Damn you Steve Jobs!

Managed to get Iphone 4 from the Phones 4 U store (North East), of only 6 in stock was fortunate enough to get one.
Had queued at the O2 store first, only to find that they had sold out of very limited stock in minutes from opening. Apparently, the 30 or so stock of Iphones were sold out as staff had handed tickets out to the very first people to queue. The local carphone warehouse store had only received a couple handsets and they had all gone by 8.40am!

I checked o2's website today; it said the o2 store on millenium way (the o2 arena) did have iphone 4 in stock.
quick drive round to be greeted by a sign "No iphone 4 in stock at this store". I asked the assistant why the website said the store did have stock "No, Sorry we have no iphone 4"….. "So when will you be getting them in?" she shrugged her shoulders and said "possibly Friday".
    Cheers, very helpfull.
Oh and the o2 website was last updated 5 hours after my visit, and still says this store does have iphone 4 in stock.

I'm from Brazil, trying to buy it at London and Milton Keynes. Any suggestion or somebody know, when will it have in stock? I got a ipad at Westmister Shopping and made a reservation to iphone 4. I have only this week to find one… 🙁

Hi, I managed to buy an iphone 4 yesterday. Luckily I live in London, so had a couple of choices where they were sold. I visited the O2 store locator yesterday afternoon, and the nearest store selling them was in Wimbledon (3 miles away) I tried calling the store to find out if they were all gone, but the phone kept ringing unanswered! So I took my chance and jumped on a bus and headed to the O2 store to be confronted with a long queue.. Anyway, they had 40 in stock and I turned out to be number 39 in the queue. It took around 3 hours of waiting, but if I left the queue I'm sure someone would have gladly taken my place! Infact, there were at least another 20 people waiting behind me, in the hope that someone may be turned down ahead of them..

I’m just disappointed that it’s the 1st July and there has still been no word on stock in the UK. Most retailers have no idea when they are expecting stock and websites are misleading, they are slow to update and phone lines to companies are engaged with customers trying to place orders. It’s sad that the launch date has been and gone and we still can’t buy one. The longer I wait the less I feel it’s worth the hassle.

Went to the orange store on launch to find out they run out of stocks….
Well placed the order with 60 pound diposite so I will apparently guranteed the new iphone4.
Told me new stock gonna come after 3 days. For no suprise they didn't.
They now told they are getting new stock in the middle of next week so hands if there an shipment.
Now its just about patiently waiting…..

I just got mine today, the website said there was none in stock anywhere, but I phoned all the stores near me and one store had only 1 left, they kept it behind for me while I drove down 😛

Same experience I'm afraid, every where I go, same story, 'out of stock.' Registered interest with all the main retailers but no response from any until today when I received an email from Tescos. However, when I went to my local store they'd only received two units which were ong gone and were a bit cagey about when they'd received on saying I'd been sent an email. Also said that other stores were out of stock. Quite frankly, Mr Jobs should be shot (as well as the other CEOs launching new products), creating shortages is clearly part of their strategy to hype up interest and keep prices inflated. If I see the advert for the iPhone 4 on the tv once more I'll be needing a new tv!!!!!!

    Hi Friends
I personally don't think apple is out of stock for iphone 4 at the moment its just pretending it, As they just want there product to get more and more famous. If it was out of stock other cellular company like o2 , orange, t-mobile, 3, ETC should also have been out of stock but they have enough of it.

Apple stores get there delivery regularly but they don't know what's inside so if you want an iphone you need to line-up in the morning when the store opens, So how can a normal business man get one? will he line-up every day ?? will he call up the store every morning to find out if they have got a delivery and then line-up and find out he cant be served ? No he wont and neither wait for it for 3 weeks for the on-line store. He will just got to the cellular network provider to get one from which apple makes more profit.

I will be happy if Apple answer my below question:

*1) If you are out of stock at the moment y would u Launce it in other country at critical time ?*
*2) Why r u not allowing cellular network unlatch iphone 4 if u r selling simfree?*
*3) Why stores get stock even if ur not able to full-fill ur online store orders ?*
*4) Why does network provider have stock of u r product and you don't ?*
*5) Why did you stop pre orders ?*
*6) How can you not have stock information about your own store ?*

Your low stock levels are invitation for the ebay seller to make profit (a family of 4 people can get 8 number of iphone4 and sell each for 600 pounds as they are not gona use it they r just making profit out of it).
So please start pre-orders andjust clear your online stores order 1st and then stack-up ur retail stores.

This causes hate rate in peoples mind for the company.

    Regards
    Chinmay
