Verizon Email Server Outage: Submit Your Problems

Verizon seem to be having problems with the Webmail login service and this is down to the Verizon Central outage.

Are Verizon customers left in the dark, seeing as big red are yet to post updates about the outage, or the return of the web mail service.

According to TechPinger, Accounts cannot be signed into, and customers are unable to check emails. Email accounts can be accessed via mobile phones, from wherever you are. The email facilities from Verizon central at the webmail.verizon.net are used by a huge amount of customers, folders can be easily organised and protected from spam.

We would like to know if you are having problems still with the Verizon Email Server Outage, if you have or still are having issues please scroll down to our comment area and let us know. Thanks

I phoned Verizon FIOS tech support at 8 pm Eastern time yesterday (June 28) and was told that the outage started at 4 pm; that is was nationwide; and that they didn't know when it will be fixed. I am going to call Verizon Customer Service today and tell them I want a prorated credit on my account for the time that email was unavailable. And as many have noted, the worst part is that Verizon has not publicly said a thing about the outage.

No email, I am OUT of Business, costing me a fortune!
Idiots, didn't even notify us in advance.
Verizon is a piece of shit, as always!

Are you aware that you are just asking for all sorts of trouble (from super spam attacks to identity theft) by posting your name, phone number & email address in a public forum?
You really should be more responsible with your public information.
    Are you new to computers?

  4. CeeGrandly says:

My regular Verizon email was down at about 5:30PM (CST) Monday.
It was up this morning at 6AM.
Over the past few months I have had sporadic problems accessing my email(login) but the problem has never lasted more than and hour or two.
Information from Verizon has been nonexistent.

It is NEVER NEVER a good idea to post your phone number!! And especially NOT WITH YOUR NAME!!

Posting your email address is just asking to be swamped by spam [assuming it ever starts working again] !

If I was serious about it, with the information you posted here, I would have your address in a minute or two and probably have enough of your personal information to start identity theft within 30 minutes.

    Wake up!

Having said that: my Verizon email has returned to normal since early this AM. [Dallas]

I've been down since yesterday at ~5:00 with the annoying pop-up from outlook asking for the network password and not being able to access my emailin any way. Technical support was useless and I was passed around through the chat that kept going up and down and finally disconnected me. I'm pretty aggrevated. I didn't find out there was a problem until I checked the Verizon Forums in which posting are from users, NOT VERIZON.

  7. Ken Sturmer says:

Mine is still down, and Verizon has not bothered to post anything about this on their website! They have definitely lost a customer! It's one thing to have problems. It is yet another to consider your customers as unimportant!

I have not been able to get email fsince yesterday evening. A Vz rep told me that they are having a problem bringing their server back up after bad weather last night. It's very frustrating.

  9. Anonymous says:

This problem started yesterday. I have been unable to get email since 6 pm yesterday. I was informed today that they are still working on the problem. It is frustrating.

  10. Sue says:

this is the 2nd day with no e-mail access and no way to contact support, either online or by phone. I've never experienced such poor service with anything like this. I'm in California.

  11. scott says:

Email still can't be read,…can't log into email account…problems loging on email from multiple sites, so it is on Verizon to fix it.

  12. Jim polando says:

I cannot get into my e-mail account. This is day two of the same issue. I get the sign-in page, and sign in as i have for two years. I get to the next page, and when I click on the in-box Icon, I get an error message that indicates that i have no internet connection. When i troubleshoot, I get a message that there are no detected problems with my connection. I seem be able to do anything else i wish on the internet. As of this message I have been listening to the music on the tech support line, very frustrating….Come on and have the decency to notify your clients!

Based upon the interruption of service and the total lack of technical help, I would NOT recommend verizon to anyone. I tried calling tech support, only to get someone who could barely speak English and I couldn't understand them. For the amount we pay, this is inexcusable!!

  14. George Irwin says:

As of 7am on Wed. 6/30/10, still no service at Middletown, DE. Been out since early afternoon on Mon.

Talked to tech service twice. They tried all usual remedies, unsuccessfully. Eventually told me there must be a system problem, try again every 2 hours. The techs apparently had no clue there was a general outage!

On second call, Verizon had a general message that all passwords needed to be reset. But the tech could not get that program to work either. Told me to try again later. Well, 9 hours later, and still no answer.

Anybody know a good alternative service?

  15. MAD JERSEY GIRL says:

Here in NJ no service for the 3rd day. We may have to switch back to Comcast.

So many things in our lives are messed up by Verizons problems. I was shocked to find out here that it is nationwide and still no message from Verizon.

My mac Outlook Express is still having trouble sending outgoing mail via the verizon dsl modem here in Indiana. Error log says "the server did not recognize the recipients", i.e., "unknown address". These are just automatic forwards of certain incoming mail to my own e-mail addresses at earthlink and yahoo… So suddenly the server doesn't recognize me or those domains?!? Errors today started 8 am, when first attempt was made to send something, still trouble as of noon (EDT). Yesterday, the same forwards went out ok around 8 am. On the 28th, it was more erratic, with delays of some things by afternoon (would take several tries to get out) and messages indicating the server was probably overloaded.

Receiving mail seems to be working ok, although of course I wouldn't know if things were bouncing… Net connection ok also, can surf the web. Tried to directly access my e-mail account on the web, got a "can't connect to that page" error in my browser. They are just about to hand over everything to Frontier in my area, wonder if that's connected. July 1 is supposed to be the date for the switchover for us, don't know about the other states involved.

On an online dsl forum, other people are reporting the same problem around the country, with occasional reports of "fixed".

  17. Debra Church says:

I can't sign on to verizon email. This happens frequently , and yes I agree, they never publicly acknowledge any problems.

  18. Lorraine says:

I receive mail through Outlook 2007. I used to have Verizon DSL and rarely had email issues. Since switching to Verizon FIOS there have been frequent time-out errors along with constantly asking me for my password. It will work fine for a few days and then it starts up again. Since June 30th it’s been particularly bad. It’s extremely frustrating. I wish they would get their act together!

  19. Kat says:

Ever since this outage, I've had inconsistent message delivery with my verizon account to my iPhone. Is anyone else still experiencing problems? I also keep getting password/user name incorrect messages – on my iPhone and occassionally with Outlook. I've reviewed all the settings – sometimes it works; sometimes it doesn't. Help?

  20. Joe F says:

Harisburg Pa.. .Email down since 8/19/10.. Usual Verizon bull–it from tech and customer service.. Filed a complaint with Pa. P.U.C. & attorney general.. Our A.G is running for Governor.. GOOD time for voters.. BAD time for political targets of advancement.. Verizon is still dung..

  21. Jim Spendiff says:

August 20 to (so far) August 14

Cannot access my email, verizon "support" completely ignorant of 1. the problem, 2. any solution, 3. when the problem with their server will be fixed, and 4. what I could do in meantime to access my email. This, of course, is unacceptable. There are better servers and I intend to change.

  22. Jim Spendiff says:

August 20 to (so far) August 24. Unable to access my email account. Verizon "support" is 1. Unable to help, 2. Ignorant of the problem, 3. unable to provide a "fix", and 4. generally, "out of the loop". Verizon's lack of communication with customers is unacceptable and will undoubtedly prove unprofitable for them. There are better servers and I intend to switch ASAP.

  23. andree lerat says:

Verizon is definitely the worst email provider. Been unable to access my email for 3 days now because they disable my account and cannot fix it. It seems that they need more talent working for me.

  24. Hsulong123 says:

I can’t access my verizon webmail for a week now. The live chat support reset my password and
claim they can access my account from my end. Yet I still can’t sign in. I change my browser to firfox with no success.  I give up totally !

  25. Jdcollier says:

Verizon Mail has been out of service more than it has worked for me in the last few months.  I am changing to another provider as soon as possible.  They will not discuss it with me, and only try to cover up their problems when you finally talk to a real person, who usually cannot speak English until you can understand them.

  26. Jbayer says:

Don’t use the web but have been having problems with the outgoing email server being unavailable for a send.  Usually a resend gets it to go, but getting rather annoying.
