Apple’s Steve Jobs Ignoring China Market says Lenovo Boss

The Chairman of Lenovo, Liu Chuanzhi has said that Apple is helping Lenovo due to Apple’s failure to commit fully in China and that Steve Jobs is ignoring the Chinese market in terms of “reaching out to customers.”

According to an Electronista article by way of the FT, Apple commands strong demand for their iPhone handsets and Mac computers,; however with only 2 Chinese retail stores, 1 iPhone carrier and several small 3rd-party dealers, Apple’s small China footprint allows Lenovo free rein.

Apparently Lenovo boss Chuanzhi told the FT, “We are lucky that Steve Jobs has such a bad temper and doesn’t care about China. If Apple were to spend the same effort on the Chinese consumer as we do, we would be in trouble.”

Chuanzhi is also confidant that their Android flagship phone the LePhone is doing well in China due to being more tailored to the local audience along with Lenovo commanding a much wider retail presence.

Apparently it has been predicted that the China market will overtake the US market as the most important and Chuanzhi has warned that Apple may have to adapt their launch strategies so it can cater for the China populace. However the Lenovo boss does see Jobs as exceptional and one of the few execs that can dominate leadership.
