Motorola Droid X Pre-order Limited Restart at Best Buy

Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile halted pre-orders for the Motorola Droid X smartphone when said pre-orders hit the allotted inventory quantity within five days and it wasn’t expect that they would resume Motorola droid X pre-ordering very soon.

However according to an article over on Droid-life by Kellex and by way of Android Spin, they have confirmed with two Best Buy Mobile stores that there is indeed a limited pre-order beginning as of yesterday the 4th July and will continue until Saturday the 10th of July.

Apparently the reason it is a limited restart of pre-ordering is due to Best Buy not guaranteeing that pre-ordered Motorola Droid X units will be available as of launch day the 15th of July.

Furthermore apparently best Buy is also telling employees during this pre-order, to not allow purchasers to make any appointments to pick up their device. So anyone going the Best Buy Motorola Droid X pre-order route or are you waiting for Verizon to stump up the goods?

I preordered the phone on 7/4 but will buy from another source if one becomes available. The required $50 gift card purchased does not have to be used for the phone.

I did the same. I preordered and Best Buy and just found out that I am #2 on the list of people NOT guaranteed to receive the phone tomorrow, though this might change if anyone doesn't show or if they get more tomorrow morning, which they said they may.

I called my local Cellular Sales-Verizon Retailer, and they are not expecting their stock until Friday, but should be getting more than enough for me to pick it up Friday morning.

I might just use my gift card for the docking station at Best Buy.

Its funny that you said Best Buy told you that your "#2 on the list of people NOT guaranteed to receive the phone tomorrow, though this might change if anyone doesn't show or if they get more tomorrow morning." I preordered and was told the same exact thing yesterday on July 14th almost verbatim.
