iOS 4 Loses to Android 2.2 in JavaScript Benchmarks

There will no doubt always be one battle or another going on between Apple’s operating system, iOS 4 and its rival from Google the Android operating system, and today the battle is in JavaScript performance benchmarks.

According to an Andrew Munchbach article over on the Boy Genius Report, the guys over at Ars Technica have placed iOS 4 up against Android 2.2 in JavaScript performance benchmark tests which show that iOS 4 actually loses out to Android 2.2.

According to the Ars Technica article…“The results show that the Android device delivers significantly faster JavaScript execution than the iPhone, scoring over three times better on V8 and almost twice as fast on SunSpider.”

The benchmark tests were done using iOS 4 on an iPhone 4 and Android 2.2 on the Nexus One, we can hear the Android faithful muttering, we told you so, and having a good gloat; mark one up for the Android platform.
