Apple iPhone 4 Vs Motorola Droid X Battery Comparison

Ok this is a little silly but we thought why not comparing the Apple iPhone 4 and the Motorola Droid X battery life, it’s a comparison that may be of interest to some of you.

The Motorola Droid X has a 1540 mAHLi—Ion battery offering up to 480 minutes OR usage time and up to 220 hours standby time.

The Apple iPhone uses a standard Li-Po 1420mAh battery offering up to 300 hours using 2G or 3G, when it comes to talk time you will get up to 14 hours using 2G and up to 7 hours using 3G, plus you will also get up to 40 hours music time.

The Droid X is now available to buy via Verizon Wireless, now before you ask we are not saying that the Droid X by Motorola can take on the Apple iPhone 4, but it could do right?

Would you choose the Motorola or Apple smartphone? We are only comparing the two batteries because it seems even though the iPhone battery is smaller it seems to be better, what do you think?

  1. In the places where I want to use it I get good CDMA coverage. GSM coverage is not good. So it doesn't matter if it's better than the iPhone or not. I wish I did have a choice, but Verizon's phones are the only possibility.

Your comparison is worded so poorly that I can't even understand it.. Sometimes minutes and sometime hours. And the description changes,

It's amazing how badly iPhone 4 sucks. Apple Fanboys will defend it until the end of time however. I will freely note first off that I have the 3GS, and I bought the 4. I returned it and went back to my current 3GS. It was that bad. It's hilarious to me what Apple fanboys are saying in forums and blogs all across the web, defending this thing like it's some sacred gem, pretending all its issues don't even exist. Ridiculous. Check out the video I made on YouTube about "An Apple Fanboy's take on Life…". It's at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPcQ-cYg8iA

I own a 3G iPhone and had the opportunity to test the Droid X for the past 2 months. The battery comparison is hands down much better with the Droid X (by 3+ hours on a daily basis).

I have both right now, in an equally bad reception area for both phones due to building construction. Both had a full charge as of 7:30 this morning. The iPhone was used for calls and email while the Droid only was doing email. The Droid lasted 6 hours 2 minutes and was at 30% remaining. The iPhone has 83% remaining. On battery life the iPhone 4th Generation is killing any Android phone I have tried, Nexus one, Incredible, 1st Droid, EVO (no contest there) The Droid showed the display killing 46 % of battery and cell standby 34% and I have it set for Smart Mode, if you use the stingy setting the display is almost too dim to see. The iPhone on battery life is definitely better, even against the earlier versions.

  6. I had the 3GS and got iPhone 4 … I think this other guy was paid off by Google, since i can tell you, iPhone 4 is much better than 3GS. The reception thing was kind of annoying but I simply put a $20 case on it, and now it’s perfect — and guess what, they give you a free case. Oh, and I was gonna get a case anyway, had one on my 3GS the whole time 😀

Battery life is awesome. I’m not a fanboy, since I had. a Pre before and really I still think Pre’s interface is better than iPhone or Android… But iPhone 4 is rally good for battery life, I was at 100% when I started writing this and I’ still at 100%. And I lasted 4 hours on 4% including 5 texts and 2 calls.

I've too have both the droid x and iphone 4. It seams to me that the Iphone 4 has a slightly better battery charge. With the Droid X, I found myself having to set up toggles, ugly BTW, on my screen to keep turning off GPS, WIFI, Syncing, and to dim my phone. These things are always switched "on" on my iphone 4. It also takes less time for my iphone 4 to charge up when connected via USB on my computer. (I'm currently testing the Droid X to see if I'll switch from ATT to Verizon due to lack of coverage in my workplace.
