Apple Nokia N97 Mini Antennagate Claims Is Rubbish Says NokNok

Yesterday I posted an article about Apple claiming the Nokia N97 Mini also suffers from the antenna issue plaguing the iPhone 4, and Apple provided video evidence of this, you can view the article and video (here)

However, today an article by Phil B of NokNok refutes Apple’s claims that the Nokia N97 Mini suffers the same issues as the iPhone 4, and says the claim “is a load of rubbish.”

NokNok has a Nokia N97 Mini and put Apple’s claims to the test and photographed the process whereby they say the reception remained excellent even when holding the device in “exactly the same grip shown by Apple.” The article also says that “call quality remained perfect at all times is something that puts the Nokia N97 Mini a mile apart from its rival from Apple.”

So it appears that either the Nokia N97 Mini works differently when in the hands of either NokNok or Apple or something is amiss. So with that in mind we’d like any of our readers who own a Nokia N97 Mini to try the test for themselves and drop us a comment on whether Apple or NokNok is correct on this matter.

At least I tried the next minute after reading the Apple claims. I checked it on N97 too and DID NOT FACE ANY ISSUES on both the devices.

I do own a n97 mini. the thing is, yes it does from time to time lose a bit of reception if you hold it along the bottom. i notice it the most when i'm surfing the web with the keyboard open and my right hand is covering the bottom of the phone. Also it only happens when you're in kind of sketchy reception areas. I've never had it when I had full bars. More like if there were 4 bars then it might go down to 1, but the phone still functions.
