iPhone 4 Replacements for 3GS with iOS 4 Issues?
Well now I’m not too sure if this is correct or not but apparently AppleCare staff have replaced one customer’s iPhone 3GS with an iPhone 4 due to their iPhone 3GS experiencing iOS 4 issues as long as said iPhone 3GS is still covered by warranty.
According to Filip Truta over on Softpedia, this news comes to light via Apple Discussions, where numerous iPhone users have posted over 50 pages of complaints in the thread “iOS4 update — now iPhone now rebooted during phone call.”
Apparently iOS 4 is causing some issue with stability and one posts says that Apple is willing to offer an iPhone 4 as a replacement to customers experiencing issues with iOS 4 on an iPhone 3G as long as the device is under warranty.
According to hundreds of posts, owners of the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS have been plagued with muffled sound from the speaker, battery drainage and bad wireless connection since upgrading to iOS 4.
One customer has said that AppleCare provided the customer with a replacement iPhone 4 handset after they reported similar issues with their iPhone 3GS with “no questions asked.” The customer known as StarKrow posted…“For all of you with this problem…
Try to take the phone back to an Apple Store. My AppleCare warranty expired in June & yesterday, they replaced the phone with a 3GS with ios 4 on it no questions asked.
It’s worth a try. That’s how you get Apple to notice there’s a problem.”
Like I said when I began this post, we’re not too sure if this is what Apple is officially doing so we would say take it with a pinch of salt until such times as Apple makes it official, although you could try doing this to see what happens.
