Droid X units to get Android 2.2 Froyo next week

Verizon Wireless are apparently sending out the very first bits of that Android 2.2 software update that lots of users out there are waiting to receive.

According to a recent article by Ionut Arghire over at softpedia.com it seems that some very lucky individuals that own a droid X have actually already received the solution, this would suggest that the Big Red may be not that far away from deploying the solution.

So far nothing official has been confirmed yet that it, although the rumours are coming thick and fast and indicate that some users of Droid X by Motorola on Verizon’s airwaves have stated that their handsets are silently receiving the Android 2.2 Froyo update.

A post published recently on My Droid World is said to prove that, although it states that the BLUR solution is still included within the update the overall behaviour of the operating system is very similar to the current one and also the new Froyo home screen is missing. So far there have been no other specific information on any other changes that may come with, so over to you have you received it yourself and have you anything to report?
