RIM BlackBerry 6 OS Platform Launched

Here is something that has been talked about and speculated on since WES which was back in April, the new BlackBerry 6 Operating system platform that is.

Now following on from the launch of the BlackBerry Torch today which we reported on earlier here RIM research in motion have decided its better to come clean with all the details on the new operating system.

Thanks to a recent article by Chris Ziegler over at engadget.com we have the opportunity to share with you some refreshing details. Obviously there is the name change from BlackBerry OS to simply BlackBerry.

The software is said to contain numerous updates including a new universal search function, social network aggregation. Also Wi-Fi powered media sync with your desktop music collection and a WebKit based browser which has support for HTML5. RIM are also committed to bring the BlackBerry 6 as an upgrade to the Bold 9700, Bold 9650 and the Pearl 3G.
