HTC Glacier Spotted and Detailed, Possibly T-Mobile Project Emerald

A while ago T-Mobile’s Project Emerald reared its head in the mobile space, but not a great deal as yet is really known about the project other than the rumour that the HTC Vision/Vangard/G1 Blaze was a Project Emerald handset.

However according to an article over on Gizmodo by Kat Hannaford, via the guys over at AlienBableTech, either T-Mobile is getting a couple of smartphones for Project Emerald from HTC or that Vision/Vangard/G1 Blaze device has received a new handle, the HTC Glacier.

Apparently a device known as the HTC Glacier has turned up in GLBenchmark’s database, and delivers some notable detail on the new smartphone, although only the processor has been tested to date which points towards a 1GHz Snapdragon, which may or may not be dual-core.

Apparently whatever this HTC Glacier does have, it scored twice the frames as the Sprint HTC EVO 4G, and with T-Mobile launching that teaser website for their first HSPA+ smartphone, it makes one wonder if the HTC Glacier could be just that handset.

Like many of us G1 owners, we are ready for the next Android superstar phone and we want it to be good. We don't want just an Android phone that's just a little better. We want a leap in improvement with the same impact the G1 had on us. Hopefully this will be it. We're watching with glee, hope and anticipation.

I agree with travis g1 users (I’m one of them my contract renews in three weeks) have been waiting for the next game changer for a long time now. the desire is a beautiful phone and it has made android huge in the euro market but if all the new android devices are going to use last year’s snapdragon it’s not anything new really. I for one hope that the desire hd will be a dual core cpu just to slap a wet fish around the faces of iphone4 users 😛 (my best friend has one worse mistake he’s made). Htc have always been a ‘’quietly brilliant’’ company. the adverts for their phones really relate to people that has made them a huge success (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zA4wItykr1M) and their customer service is second to none. Let just see what happens in the next few weeks 😛
