Verizon 2010/2011 Roadmap, Android 3.0, Droid Pro and More

It’s not too often you get the low down on what the number one wireless carrier over in the United States has planned for the forthcoming year, but it appears Verizon Wireless’ 2010/2011 roadmap has been outed.

According to an article by Boy Genius of the BGR, a Verizon source has dumped a bundle of info in their laps for the Big Red’s plan for 2010/2011 which includes LTE, video conferencing, Android 3.0, smartphones and lots more.

For starters adding to the Droid X, Verizon will get a new Motorola Droid device called the Droid Pro which will apparently sport a 4 inch display, global roaming capabilities and a 1.3GHz processor, and will apparently make an appearance in November.

Verizon will see more Android devices coming from HTC and Samsung, Motorola is apparently working along with Verizon on a “slab form factor” handset similar to the Motorola Q, but will pack Android 2.2 OS, global roaming and a full touch screen.

Furthermore word has it Motorola is working on a tablet which will sport Android 3.0 OS; however the device probably won’t be released until February 201. Samsung too is apparently working on a 7 inch tablet that will come with a front facing camera.

For the full low down nip over to the BGR, the only thing that is missing from this is any mention of a Verizon iPhone of course, but get the iPhone or not, its clear Verizon is still concentrating on Android.
