Droid 2 R2-D2 Star Wars Special Could this be it?

Well I am a Star Wars fan but to be honest if this image is what the Motorola Droid 2 R2-D2 Star Wars Special Edition actually looks like, I’m not too impressed; I’d rather have a freebee R2-D2 toy to be honest.

According to an article over on the Boy Genius Report by Andrew Munchbach, this image was slapped up on Twitter by @r2d2central who claims this is an actual Motorola Droid 2 R2-D2 Special Edition handset, the same one that is due to hit the Big Red come September time.

This device does appear to have all the right gear in the right place such as the microUSB port and camera and dual LED flash, but let’s be honest it looks like someone has silk-screened a poor R2-D2 onto a slab.

Well at lease it looks like it has got the colours right at least, but does anyone really think Star Wars creator George Lucas would put his stamp of approval on this? What do our readers think is this the Droid 2 R2-D2 special or not?

I must agree with the person who wrote the article. The R2D2 special edition phone is anything but impressive. They should have made it a different color, and have done something with the design. Motorola and the other cell phone manufacturers can really make it big with the android market. Too many phones are being dished out lately this might not be good for the consumer. I'm still saying to myself, "Why the Droid 2?" when we have the Droid X. The Droid X beats the Droid 2. The Origianl Droid has not been out a year. The people are still under contract with the original Droid. If I had to choose I would definitely go with the Droid X or the Droid incredible. What is anyone's take on this?
