HTC Droid Incredible Android 2.2 Froyo Release Date: Really?
The HTC Droid Incredible will get some Android 2.2 Froyo love very soon and if all rumours are correct the release date will be August 18.
The HTC EVO and Motorola Droid updates are at its finishing stages according Droid-Life; so to have the HTC Incredible next on the list all makes sense really. The awesome Mashable reports the August 18th date with a few Froyo build leaks out in the open for the DI.

Yep, love the device but it has a few issues, I talked to a buddy who works at VZW and he said 8/18 but I talked to my other db buddy and he said that the 8/18 OS build for 2.2 on incredible failed VZW tests so I guess we will see……….
I have a Motorola Droid and got the update yesterday. When it rebooted, it got stuck at the Motorola logo. I removed battery, no luck. I called Verizon and was on with a representative for quite a while. Then she got a Motorola rep on the phone. I was told they are aware of the problem and to bring my phone to Verizon on Monday and that they would have a fix. Really? All weekend without my phone? Will they really have a fix? While on with the Verizon rep, she had me wipe my Droid but that didn't work either. So when I do get it working, I'll have to put all my apps back on too!
I am impaciently waiting . . .
Also spelling it wrong but that's cool.
I emailed Verizon Customer Service about when we are getting it, and here is their reply:
My name is Devon, and I'm happy to let you know the Froyo 2.2 software update is rolling out to everyone this month in stages. Your phone will be notified when the update is available.
So, I'm pretty excited.
I also went to the Verizon store today, asked an employee, and he said the Wednesday, August 18th rumor is correct. He also said that they're already pushing it so one can get it as early as tomorrow (or even today)…
I wanted to get this phone and called but nothing they out of stock for Sprint and wanted to know when will the next shipment arrive and nothing
I called Verizon today (August 18, 2010) and they had no indication when the release date would be for Froyo regarding the Droid Incredible. Needless to say, it was not today. Today's release was for a Motorola Droid instead. They did indicate that it would be an over the air update and that they are planning on releasing it to 400,000 phones at a time. The whole process will take several weeks to complete. You need to check the details before publishing a story to the public.
Still waiting on August 22. I wish that they'd hurry up. I'm feeling a little left out of the Froyo parade with my Droid Incredible.
Does anyone know what setting changes I can change on my Incredible that will allow me to delete my Outlook emails on my phone but still have the emails in my In-box on my laptop?
