Although it was expected that Verizon Wireless would gain the RIM BlackBerry 9670 clamshell device as an exclusive Big Red BlackBerry handset, apparently things change and Verizon won’t be having the device exclusively.

According to Boy Genius of the Boy Genius Report, they have “independently confirmed” that the BlackBerry 9670 clamshell device will also be heading for the Sprint network sometime over the “next couple of months.”

Furthermore numerous sources have apparently confirmed the existence of Sprint branded Blackberry 9670 handsets and they are in their possession, so it does seem that Sprint will share the Research In Motion device with Verizon.

They say that although they can’t be sure of an exact launch date they would expect a launch not to be too far away beings actual devices are out in the wild.
