It looks like Research In Motion might be looking to replace the BlackBerry Bold 9700 with a newer version of the smartphone which is apparently known as the BlackBerry Bold R020 according to a leaked internal RIM document.

According to an article by Linsey over on FoneHome, this new Bold device codenamed Blackberry Bold R020 looks similar to the original Bold 9700 but sports an upgraded camera and the new Blackberry operating system, BlackBerry 6.

Word has it that the BlackBerry Bold R020 smartphone will carry a 5 megapixel camera along with the latest BlackBerry OS and 512MB of RAM, but is those upgrades going to be enough to make the Blackberry Bold R020 a hit?

There’s no word on any other specs for this new RIM device, and no word on any expected release date ot any pricing, but as soon as we know more we will of course bring it your way.
