Could smartphones of the future carry such a camera sensor and if so what year do you reckon it will happen?

The new 120 megapixel CMOS sensor from Canon would be awesome if they could fit into the likes of an iPhone or an Android smartphone, Gadget Venue has just reported news about this new sensor, which features the capabilities of capturing images at a resolution of 13,280 x 9,184 pixels.

Mental to ever think such a thing could be place in a handset but anything is possible these days, we have just gone a little crazy but it is a valid question. When will smartphones see the likes of such a powerful camera sensor?
