The developers of CyanogenMod have announced the release of CyanogenMod v6 firmware which delivers custom built ROMs without Google’s closed source apps such as Google Maps, YouTube and Gmail.

According to an article over on H-online, this stable version of CyanogenMod 6 delivers a firmware based on Android 2.2 Froyo and includes Flash 10.1, several new API’s and a faster web browser which includes the V8 JavaScript engine which delivers up to three times improvement of JavaScript performance.

Steve Kondik, an Android developer says they have hit their target list of devices, which basically means the custom ROM s are now ready for the T-Mobile G1, HTC Desire, HTC Magic, and Nexus One, and the Motorola Droid.
