Epic 4G Teardown by FCC?

Not long after a new smartphone hits the shelves the device usually gets ripped apart and has all its internal put on display for all. This process or teardown is usually performed by the likes of iSuppli ot iFixit; however in the case of the Samsung Epic 4G, they seem to have been beaten to the punch.

According to an article over on the Boy Genius Report by Andrew Munchbach, the Samsung Epic 4G has been disassembled by none other than the guys over at the FCC and they have released images of the Epic 4G’s innards.

So if you are into poking around on the inside of a mobile phone, and have a hankering for knowing where the Epic 4G’s Hummingbird processor is compared to the CDMA radio, you can check out those images by hitting up the FCC docs.

However, no doubt now that the FCC has done the official dissection of the second 4G enabled smartphone and first 4G enabled Samsung Galaxy S device, it won’t be too long before one of the regular disassemble artists have a go and post more pictures.
