Over the last few months we’ve been seeing numerous new smartphones popping up on the new waves sporting Microsoft’s new operating system Windows Phone 7, but as yet Microsoft has been quite tight lipped as to just when there may be an official launch of Windows Phone 7.

However, according to an article over on Ubergizmo, they have been hearing “reports” that the official launch date for Windows Phone 7 will be the 11th of October 2010.

Furthermore apparently Microsoft will use New York as its worldwide launch stage and will be beamed across the globe, so keep your eye out round about the 11th.

Mind you considering Android and the iPhone iOS have been grabbing all the attention of late, it’s about time Microsoft pushed out WP7 otherwise they may just be a tad late to the mobile space party.
