Well now, it looks like the hackers are working to get the HTC Desire HD ROM ported over to a few other smartphones. The ROM has already been ported to the HTC HD2, but the hackers aren’t going to be satisfied with just that.

According to an article over on Engadget by Donald Melanson, the guys over at XDA Developers have now managed to slap the HTC Desire HD ROM on the original HTC Desire and the Droid Incredible, although as you’d expect there are some issues.

Apparently the port at present means there’s no camera support on both devices and has a weird looking dialler image, but it does seem to be a somewhat stable beta and speeds up booting a touch on the Desire HD of which we have a video that can be viewed below.

Word also has it that the same port is being attempted onto the HTC EVO 4G along with a build of the original Desire from MIUI but is still not quite there and lacks 4G, Wifi and again camera support.
