EX115 No data cable, no memory card coming in the box with the phone. Also, videos cannot be fast forwarded during playback…disappointed 🙁

  5. Lia says:

So far this has been a very nice phone. I've only had it for a few days. I would recommend good lighting for photos and close up. I'm not familiar with connecting the phone to a PC. The phone is also nice because you do not have to switch off phone when switching between Sim 1 and Sim 2.
Can someone advise me if I need to wear the headphones to hear the ring tone before I apply it to my profile? I cannot preview them to hear what I'd like to choose for my ringtone.

I also hope there will be a nice silicone skin cover available for the phone. I like to protect my investments. If anyone knows where I can find them online, let me know please. I haven't found any
    available in the US yet.

Thank you for your help and allowing my comments.

  6. Williyam says:

There are some serious problem with ex115 as it doesnt have an option to install themes, camera functions are not updated. even does nt have an option to asign ringtones plus vibration mode is not there, message options are good, good internet options, minimise option is there

  7. Dr. Sujoy says:

Hello people…….IM gald i can write a detailed report about the motorola EX115 as i have used it now for about a week…so all u plannin 2buy pay good heed

It is an excellent phone compared to motorolas standard. One of their best phones i ought to say. It has dual sim capability…if one sim is in use the other is on standby(other one comes as waiting 2u and the other person hears da ring). Looks wise it can match up 2a blackberry although blackberry is blackberry. It has a good 3.15mp camera without flash. Picture quality is damn good and u have option of choosing wethr u wana tak pic in 1mp 2mp or 3mp although 3mp doesnt allow zoom. Video record is good too. Can customise ringtone and has all modes as profile includin vibe.

3.5mm jack with good music quality n bass enhancement too. Equalizer present. Radio is not internl so u need headphones 2hear. Messaging doesnt have t9 but is easy with multilingual facility. Phone has memory expandable up2 32GB although no1 would need tht mch. Picture customisation wit caller is there along with video ringtone for callers although soung with video is not tht loud…

Bluetooth present n no connectivity issues. Inbuilt player is good but file manager dsnt let u frwrd songs or videos. Picture viewer is good too. Phone has lock feature but dsnt allow application locking or phone locking although keypad lock is there which ne1 can open easily.

Internet conectivity is good and it has dedicated menu icon 4netwrkng sits and youtube. Media buffering takes time but may depend on netwrk2. Best feature is u dnt need 2 power off 4 switching btwn sim modes. Screen resolution is good too…

    DRAWBACKS-No touch screen

No themes whch nokia users are use2

SMS ringtone cannot be customised…u hav 2select amng da company provided 18

    NO DATACABLE PROVIDED

Gues cannot sync 2PC as no support software available from MOTOROLA site

Back panel very tough 2open again n agian so put ur sim n memory card n 4t it

    NO T9 available

ALL IN ALL ITS a gr8 phone for the price its available at….bought it the moment i saw it n it was released tht day itslf…VALUE FOR MONEY as u cant expect a person 2gt evrythn at ths low a budget

I also own a nokia X3, Samsung J800, HTC TOUCH and nokia 6380 but i still use this over the others….doesnt get hung at all n gives a buisness phone like unlike others at sch low a cost. Camera quality is better than X3s 3.5 mp camera although without flash.

As for price i bought it from CROMA at 4990 excluding memory card. With 2GB card bill came to 5300. But in other places its available for around 4600-4700. Check prices before u buy. ANd also freebies.

Other phones in its competition are the Nokia X2 for 5600 with 5MPcamera but cheap looks and the Nokia X3 for 6500 which is a slider. Typical Nokia bt looks good. Thats it nothin more 2it. Also consider the nokia C3 which has qwety keypad, looks kinda girly with rounded edges but salesman himself advised against it sayin tht lota ppl complained bou dis new handset of nokia with dual sim function. decent camera though without flash.

Its gota barnd name associated with it-MOTOROLA, after sales service is good also but REST UP2U.

    Cheers and happy SHopping

    1. Nomi says:

can u give me some further detail about calling features like if sim 1 is busy on a call and there is another call on sim 2, am I be abled to hear a tone and put it on hold to receive the other call on sim 2 at the same time?

  8. HARISH YADAV says:

I HAVE PURCHASE MOTOROLA EX115 ON 10/10/10, I AM VERY SAD THERE IS NO OPTION TO BE INSTALL ANY THEMES , PLEASE SUGGEST ME TO HOW CAN I INSTALL THEMES.

  9. Manpreet Singh says:

Hey I am also using this phone since last two days.

But I am facing some problems with it.

    1) If you copy contacts from sim to phone, then all appears as "Last name First".

    2) Even the contacts are saved in phone, but when ever you receive a call, Name saved in sim is highlited, Like if you have saved picture & name in phone. It does't shows the picture & name of phone But it highlights the Sim contact.

    3) You can't use a seperate ringtone for SMS.

    4) You cannot install Themes. Even these are available on the internet.

If anybody can resolve these problems, then please provide me solution on my mail ID "manpreet.preets@yahoo.com"

  10. Sumesh says:

I bought the phone yesterday from Croma outlet in Bangalore. The phone is looks elegant and I like the quality of the QWERTY keyboard. I would say it is better than Blackberry keyboard, since it has got a better feel (has a kind of rubber coating and each key is seperated by clearly with a height difference)

Cons:- Bluetooth is not pairing with my car (Microsoft Blue&me). I tried with Motorola V3i and Nokia n97 mini and it works. So not able to make it work with my car. I am planning to replace the phone and see if it works, otherwise I have to return the phone 🙁

  11. Antediluviancaper says:

Purchased unlocked EX115 on eBay, 19 Oct and quite satisfied so far. Relied on Motorola reputation and sought quad + dual sim features. Also, this is our 1st qwerty phone – impressed with ease of messaging and filing contacts (Did not want 'sliding cover'). AT&T supplied 2 sim cards at no charge and we utilized 'GO Phone' plans on both numbers, thus start-up cost was reasonable. Cost: US$180 +$50 for 8gb SD card. Unit came with AC charger – we added a Motorola Bluetooth earpiece ($30) which came with its own AC charger, complete with USB–miniUSB patch cord (& that solved the cellphone – PC patch cord problem). So far – so good . . .

  12. Gajen says:

    overall phone is worth buying..
the only drawback i noticed is..-it does not provide option to forward any sms to a group 🙁

n also.. u have to select contacts one by one thru a long procedure.. no option to mark several contacts whom u want to send sms..

    1. Anil says:

      Gajen,

Even if you painfully select contacts one by one, does your message go to all? In my case, only the first recipient got it. As a test, I sent it to only 2 guys, first got it, and the second got a blank SMS.

  15. Anil says:

I am kind of disappointed with my EX 115. My 4 year old Razor v3 was much better. Here's what I hate about it:
    1. Volume on Alarms cannot be different from the ring tone volume. There is one volume setting across all functionalities.
    2. Alarms cannot be labelled. I know I can use Tasks, but my Razor could label the Alarms as "Wake-up", "Grocery", etc.
    3. When ringing, the phone does not tell me if the call is from a Cell phone, Home or Office. It only shows the name.
    4. If I forward a SMS to multiple recipients, it is going to the first recipient only. Others are either not getting it or getting a blank SMS. Has anyone else experienced this?
    5. If I miss a SMS or a call, the phone does not beep to remind that I have missed a call or SMS. I don't find out until I check the phone (someone please correct me if I am wrong).

    1. Anil says:

      (…continuing)

I am kind of disappointed with my EX 115. My 4 year old Razor v3 was much better. Here's what I hate about it:
      6. When charging, there is no LED indicator to say it is still charging or if it is done.
      7. Some of my calls exibit a lot of echo. I hear my own words through the ear piece.

Surprisingly, my 4 year old Razor v3 had all above features. The EX-115 looks great and I still like it but point 4 above is a real nuisance.

  16. Lovedude says:

    1. It does not have Group Messaging Facility.
    2. When I select multiple recipient in messaging it only goes to the first recipient.
    3. It allows java application installation but major application wont work because of insufficient memory problem.
    4. It does not allow call waiting option for Dual Sim, means if SIM1 is active then it gives SIM2 unreachable.
    5. I've configured it with pop3 email, but the size limit of email is very limited so the all message shows message too long error.

  17. Shaun DMello says:

The Ex 115 is not compatible with Motorola phone tools, but you can use a software called mobile master to backup contacts and messages. This is however not the only problem with the phone. The memory on the phone is abysmal, which means that most decent applications can not be installed to the phone even if compatible as you'll simply receive a message saying 'insufficient memory'.
There aren't too many features in terms of software on the phone, and those that are there are substandard.
The video viewing for that matter is pathetic as the view size is limited to 40% of the screen! After writing in to Motorola I simply received a reply stating that full-screen viewing is not possible. I'm still looking for a software that would work on the phone and is capable of full-screen viewing.
The phone does not have a tracker and google maps may or may not work. It does not show your location on the map, so getting directions and tracking your location is tedious if not impossible.
The phone does not have any modem drivers too, so cannot be used as a modem with your PC or laptop. This is the scenario so far at least.
Browsing on the phone sucks too since there is no tool to copy paste or select text from web pages.
The battery life is average, depending on how you use it, but the only redeeming features are the sturdy body and keypad that give it a relatively sophisticated look. Basically the phone does not look or feel cheap and is extremely reliable, but the software design and features in the phone are as cheap as they could possibly be.

For those who want group messaging, you can use mobile master when the phone is connected to your pc to send group messages.

  18. Abhay V says:

multiple sms can not be sent with this mobile. I tried sending it to multiple contacts but eventually it gets failed . It sends blank sms at multiple occasions. Can any body tell how to deal with this problem…?

  19. Samik Banerjee says:

I am the proud owner of MOTO EX115 for 2 months.

I am overwhelmed at its looks. As Motorola brand name promises it. As for Battery backup with a daily usage for almost 1.5 hours of call and around four hours of music, I need to charge every alternate day. I connect using BSNL NET to the internet via bluetooth.(I’ using now!!!! Use Sim 1 for modem connections) I have sent upto 50 messages at a time. But I need to select them one by one. Media player has full screen video option on * key. Using motorola bluetooth headset. ( Better than Nokia). Vibration and ringing is availabe simultaneously. Use OPERA 5 for cut paste tools. All Java softwares are compatible(you need to find softwares compatible with QWERTY phones). A major drawback is that it doesnot support video streaming(if anyone has a solution please inform me at samikbanerjee69@yahoo.com). Memory card access is slower than blackberry phones but much faster than Nokia. THemes have to be installed by 3rd party sw. Above all it support active phone sync software and is easily compatible with BLUESOLEIL cphone tools and with win7 media center sync.

I hope i cleared a few questions in this forum

    1. i havent got on to youtube but i believe it would work if you setup you internet settings for the media player. To do this, Press menu, go to media, mediaplayer , options and then scroll to network settings and set it up

  22. Adithya says:

    Hi ppl,
The Nokia C3 might be Wifi enabled but its software is very very slow. It takes a long time to process basic commands. I dont know about the motorola though.

  23. Anupam says:

Cn Ne1 tel dat wats d message capacity of the phone….????? n can we transfer messages to memory card or not….???? Plz reply soon…. planning to buy….

  24. Cris A says:

Bought the EX115 2 wks ago. Nice titanium case, qwerty keypads menu formats and 3mp camera w/ digital zoom. Very good mp3 player. Free ringtones, java-based apps & games, themes from http://www.umnet.com/downloads/downloads.aspx.
    Unfortunately:
    – cannot send sms to multiple recipients contrary to menu option
    – cannot sent contacts via text
    – Motorola Phone Tools does not recognize the unit
    – no data cable (Samsung cp data cable can access Mobile Master software for backups)
    – can program separate ringtone for Caller but NOT for SMS
    – no dictionary/fill-out words for SMS
    – cannot copy/delete partial text from inbox unlike V3 series
    – NO OS SOFTWARE UPDATES ANNOUNCEMENT YET
But price is good for current ex115 setup. I think I'll revert to my V3i
