BlackBerry Torch UK Release: Phones 4u On Friday

If you are in the United Kingdom and have been hanging round to get your hands on the latest Research In Motion smartphone, the BlackBerry Torch 9800 you just may be able to grab the device this week.

According to an article over on Electric Pig by Mic Wright, the guys at Phones 4u have stated they are receiving their first consignment of BlackBerry Torch 9800 devices this Friday, so anyone wanting the BlackBerry Torch better be knocking on Phones 4u’s door first thing Friday.

Phones 4u already has the smartphone up for pre-order and is a free smartphone when signing up for a two year agreement on Orange UK at £35 per month, or you can opt for the same term with Vodafone for £37.50 per month.

Both carriers also offer the BlackBerry Torch 9800 for free on an 18 month agreement which will cost you £40 per month if you prefer a shorted contract.

  1. I almost got one of the new Blackberry 9800 Torch smartphone today (Thu 30th Sep) from Phones 4 U….we did the whole deal to the point where they couldn't register the IMEI with Orange…..!! So, hopefully things may go better on Friday, (is this the "official" day of release in the UK?), as my "Torch" is sitting waiting for me in my local shop pending IMEI registration….maybe we were all just too keen??
