BlackBerry Corporate Email Services Solution Rejected by India

We all know that Research In Motion has been facing some difficulty in the middle East with their BlackBerry smartphones due apparently to security concerns by certain countries. Research In Motion has been working on a solution to the problem but apparently India has rejected that solution.

According to an article on Reuters by Devidutta Tripathy, the Economic Times has reported that the solution offered by RIM has been rejected by India’s telecommunications ministry meaning it has not been able to access BlackBerry’s Messenger service as well.

Apparently word came via an internal note from India’s telecommunications ministry which said that security agencies haven’t been able to monitor or intercept secure email communications in a readable format and enforcement agencies have also failed to intercept chats on BlackBerry Messenger.

Apparently a government source told Reuters last week that talks over corporate email between India and RIM had hit “technical glitches” but access to the BlackBerry Messenger service was apparently satisfactory.
