Google Android Gingerbread SDK Release Imminent

Let’s face it there are still quite a few Android based smartphones that are still left trailing in the operating system stakes, and Google is slowly pushing out Android 2.2 Froyo to older handsets and even some newer ones, but word has it Android 2.2 Froyo may well be old come next week.

According to an article over on Phone Dog by Alex Wagner the guys over at Android Police have let it be known that sources “very close to the Android core” say Google is about to push out the next generation of the Android OS, namely the Gingerbread SDK.

Furthermore not only will Google deliver the Gingerbread SDK by will do so sometime next week, which mean if the rumour pans out that we should get a glance at all the new Android goodies Gingerbread is supposed to bring including a new user interface.

Apparently the anonymous source as usual in these matters, didn’t know or say whether Google Gingerbread would appear as Android 2.5 or Android 3.0, still next week isn’t that long to wait to find out is it.
