It looks like the Motorola Droid 2 smartphone is taking a back seat and allowing the Droid 2 Global handset to grab all the headlines at the moment. A few days ago we posted about Best Buy Mobile dropping the Droid 2 in favour of the Droid 2 Global.

And although Verizon still hasn’t really gone all above board and official with the Droid 2 Global they are doing a bit of promoting as according to an article over on Ubergizmo, the Droid 2 Global makes an appearance on the Big Red’s “Holiday Gift Ideas” page.

Thus this basically confirms that the Motorola Droid 2 Global is almost ready for an official release on the Verizon network, and the Samsung Continuum is also hanging around on the same “Holiday Gift Ideas” page as well.

So obviously one can expect the Droid 2 Global to officially release in time for the holidays, so are you standing in line waiting to grab the Droid 2 Global on Verizon?
