For those of you that have a specific HTC smartphone that uses the HTC Sync tool, apparently HTC has now released an update for the tool bring it to version 3.0.5481 and updates the calendar and adds a couple of extra contact options.

According to an article over on Eurodroid, the improvements are support for “group” sync in contacts, adds “My favourite” item support for contacts, and extends calendar sync for a year, although they do suggest to install it once for the drivers then bin it.

Apparently the HTC devices that this update to HTC Sync tool covers is the EU and APAC HTC Hero with Android 2.1, HTC Legend, HTC Desire, HTC Desire HD, HTC Desire Z, the HTC Wildfire and HTC Aria APAC only.
