Google Android Market Down for Six Hours Maintenance: Gingerbread Thursday

There is going to be a major maintenance overhaul update tomorrow (Thursday 18, November) between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. PST, that is 6 hours that the Google Android Market developer console will be down and out of action.

The customer-facing market will continue to work according to Android Police, there will be no new Android app updates or applications allowed though, no one knows what this new update will be but we believe it could be Gingerbread time.

What is Google up to? Well it could be Gingerbread or Google Music or indeed both, the email that has been sent out basically say’s nothing other than a planned service outage impacting Android Market that requires your attention. Read the full email below:

We’re writing to inform you about a planned service outage impacting We plan to perform maintenance on the Android Market Developer Console on Thursday 18 November 2010 from 10AM to 4PM Pacific Standard Time. During this time, there will be view-only access to the Developer Console at http://market.android.com/publish. You will be able to view your list of applications and error reports; however, you will not be able to upload new apps or make updates to existing apps. The publish status of your applications and use of the Android Market app on phones should not be impacted.

Thanks, and we appreciate your patience while we work to improve Android Market.
Regards,

The Android Market Team
