Android 2.2 Froyo Brings Problems to Samsung Intercept

Sprint Samsung Intercept owners were graced with the Android 2.2 Froyo update the other day, but apparently along with the Android 2.2 Froyo update came a bundle or problems as reports have it that the update is plagued with bugs.

According to an article over on Mobile Whack by way of Talk Android, Samsung Intercept owners updating to Android 2.2 Froyo is bricking devices all over the show, so the general consensus is if you haven’t updated yet then don’t.

However if you have updated to Android 2.2 Froyo and have bricked your handset according to an unnamed source you can take your Samsung Intercept to a Sprint store and they will try to resolve the issue and get the device working again.

Thus far Samsung hasn’t officially announced a problem with Android 2.2 Froyo update for the Samsung Intercept on Sprint, but once they get round to doing so then they will need to get a newer updated version of the operating system pushed out.

So any of our Samsung Intercept toting readers upgraded to Android 2.2 Froyo and have bricked their device? If so feel free to vent your annoyance at Samsung via our comments area below.

After the update all my contacts were gone, but the phone was responding a lot better so I just let it be. The only way i was able to put my contacts back was to do a hard reset. I downloaded all my apps again and set it to how used to have it only to have the phone. Battery life was better than the before and the phone was working great…. for about a day and a half. Gradually, the phone began to slow down and would freeze. I'm waiting to see what will happen today.

I think its ridiculous that an update was forced upon my phone without a warning of what will change… which was all the features I use.. i feel this was a downgrade and not an upgrade… how annoying, my emails dont work, you have to slide to answer the phone, UGH! I cant swap from one call to the next… You cant delet from your call log, you have to clear the entire log….

Ok. Seriously. I have to slide to answer? Try my phone will not even power on. Updated on Saturday and the phone worked perfectly until Wednesday 3pm at which time the phone shut off and will not power on. Sprint is replacing the phone. Seriously, I have to slide to answer, I can see how that's a problem.

You can press the answer button at the bottom….to the left of the hang up button. (Left bottom answer and right bottom hang up) I know I was annoyed also…. hope this helps! 😉

I just want to know two things. Before I had a voice answer ring instead of music, it said…. call from so and so….. HOW DO I RESTORE THAT VOICE INSTEAD OF A RING? and the second, I no longer have any emotions on my text…. HOW DO I RESTORE EMOTIONS FOR TEXTING?

    thanks

I got the samsung intercept from vergin mobile for Christmas and I constantly have to restart it. It freezes all the time and I am forever force closing my apps… Though I am greatful for it, because it is an awesome upgrade from my old tracphone I just wish it would work more efficiently and quickly.
