Apple iPad 3 To Have Bigger Resolution Display

Well now we haven’t yet seen the next generation Apple iPad, but that doesn’t stop the rumours skipping right past the Apple iPad 2 and onto the Apple iPad 3 it would seem, as word is hitting the net waves that Apple is already working on the iPad 3.

According to an article over on 9to5 Mac by Jonny Evans, the fruity company is apparently already working on a higher resolution display for the iPad 3 which will apparently be 2048 x 1536 resolution, and furthermore component manufacturers are investing in producing such displays.

This latest news comes by way of Tom Mainelli, an analyst for IDC who apparently spoke to PC World saying…“Our sources say Apple has requested that manufacturers begin work on displays with that resolution for the iPad 3. I don’t believe anybody is ready to produce that resolution in volumes at this point. And Apple is going to require huge volumes for the iPad 2.”

Mainelli’s comments come after a Digitimes article stated that Apple was upping the resolution on the iPad, which led to the rumour that the iPad 2 was going to have the higher resolution display.

The analyst also predicts that the Apple iPad and Apple iPad 2 will grab the “lion’s share” of the expected 44.6 million strong tablet market this year.

So there it is if you believe analysts, the iPad 2 will not come out to play sporting a 2048 x 1536 resolution display, but we may seen it appear on the Apple iPad 3 and some point in the future. Forget about the iPhone 5, anyone care to throw some rumours around about the iPhone 6?
