Songbird Media Player Download for Android: No Playlist

There are many media players for Android mobile phones on the market like Winamp, VLC, and RealPlayer so can the new Songbird Media Player app be just as good?

Songbird best known for being an open-source desktop media manager has now made its way onto Android as the beta is now available for download, the code is based on Mozilla and a Firefox version was worked on by the Dev-team and this means there is plenty of customization and plug-in options, according to IntoMobile the code does not translate to mobile so plug-ins like in Fennec will not happen.

For Songbird on Android to work you will need to be running Android 2.1 or newer, apparently there is not a playlist within the app and it is beta so have fun if you wish.

You can download the new Songbird for Android beta; if you wish to install you will have to enable the installing applications from unknown sources (Normally under Settings -> Applications -> Check ‘Unknown Sources’ Option). Please let us know how you get on if you try it out.

Will you use this media player or will you stick with the likes of Winamp, VLC, or RealPlayer? Please check out SongBird Nest for more information.
