BlackBerry Bold 9700 & 9780 OS 6 Review / Problems

Not so long ago it the new RIM BlackBerry OS 6 love was only for the BlackBerry Bold 9780 and Torch but now as we know it is available for the Pearl 3G, Curve 3G and the Bold 9700.

Well seeing as it has been out a while now we thought we would ask our readers to send in their personal review and of course any problems that they have encountered. RIM has done very well with the BlackBerry Bold 9700 and the BlackBerry Torch, and has given healthy competition.

Today is all about the RIM BB Bold 9700 and the Bold 9780 handsets please step forward and let us know what you think of the new BlackBerry OS 6 update. This will give us and idea it is doing well or not.

    it sucks browser locked up. and blackberry told me i need to creaate a new email address to fix the problem they are having.. try iphone here i come… rim should be out of business at this rate in about 3 years!!!

    with the new update, my facebook doesnt let me do shit it just scrolls threw everything, my phone freezes alot more now, the application centre dosen't work keeps saying error im guessing this is the new app world?

    my phone keeps freezing its so irritating previous version was excellent never froze not even once seriously thinking about rolling back

    I have a hard time sending a text message and get an error message stating that I shouldn't use any special characters. Well, all I'm trying to do is send a damn text. t-mobil to t-mobil isn't a problem but sending from the BlackBerry 9700 with OS 6 to other numbers has been a problem. BlackBerry support has been unhelpful and can't understand who I'm talking with. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix, email me: mkellermeyer@comcast.net

    I have a BlackBerry 9700 and love the new layout of the menu options etc BUT…since having the OS 6 my BB keeps freezing and shutting down apps. My incoming calls go straight to voicemail so I had to re-set the phone to factory settings to make it work again.
    All is all the layout is good but I am far from impressed from the OS 6.
    I had a BB 8520 before and never had a problem with it but since upgrading to a BB9700 nothing but problems….so many that I have had 4 in the space of 6 months. My current one worked fine until I upgraded to OS 6

    I just done the upgrade to ver 6. It is really very bad. keep freezing, trying to make a call from directory but it takes the numbers after 1 minute I pressed on call button. I believe I have to go back to ver 5 but it already took me to 1 hour this change. really loose of time RIM should be responsible for these matters which causes for users many loss of time already. Also BB Application world is not there as well. Any one knows better solution please mail me at hsabir.turkey@gmail.com

    1. Try to use another build of the OS (download other carrier’s version).
      I had some problems with the AT&T OS version with my unlocked Blackberry Bold 9780 but i have downloaded and installed the version from Rogers and no my Blackberry is working fine.

    updated my 9700 to V6 last week. Have gotten over 300 emails from “network@etp1002, 1105, 1005 etc etc.etp. saying “this message is used to carry data between the BB handheld & an associated server. Do not delete, move or respond to this email” so I called BB tech support and they told me that it has something to do with our server so call your IT guy. The IT guy says it’s a problem between the carrier of our main server and the carrier of our BB’s which are 2 different companies. Tech support is a joke and have had nothing but problems with the 9700. If anyone has experienced this or knows how to stop this crap please let me know. Should’ve stayed with the 8530

    one of the major issue with os6 on bold 9700 is slow browsing.most of the time broswer exit without any notification.moreover i cant browse a heavy webpage due to limited RAM.unable to understand why RIM release such os if it is not compatible with hardware.
