3G not needed for me. I do not want to answer my tablet. iPad start around $500 but has no camera. I would like to see something like UMA for this product instead of having to pay for a phone plan for month to month or 2 yr commitment.

I’m afraid that the new Xoom does not have Google voice. I don’t know if they plan to add it later but the Skype software has been pulled for now too. You’re right about the camera being a great feature, especially with front and back, but what good is it if there isn’t a video phone feature? I wonder if the iPad II will have the camera and video? I’m betting on that it will, and I am waiting for that release before I hedge my money. I saw an article that said “experts” are saying the Xoom will overtake iPad sales by 2014 despite the iPad advantages. I didn’t read the article to find out why, but it is an interesting prediction. I can use either an Apple or Android device to watch live TV or recordings because I have a DISH Network employee Sling adapter. For now I use my iPhone but I’d like a larger screen for traveling since I’m gone a lot for work. The battery in the Xoom lasts a long time so I suppose that is good.
