Apple iPad 2, Motorola Xoom, iOS vs. Honeycomb Battle Video
The latest flagship iOS tablet from Apple is of course the Apple iPad 2, while the flagship Android tablet from Motorola is the Motorola Xoom, but how do these two tablet giants stand up against each other when going head to head?

The tablet battle video delivers almost thirteen minutes of battle time between the Apple iPad 2 and Motorola Xoom. Both tablets are somewhat similar, both have large displays, similar hardware under the hood and priced similarly, but which one will come out on top in this battle?

LOL, fairly obvious that the viewing quality on the iPad is so superior from your video. The xoom is just completely hazy. Yet, you insult the viewers by claiming otherwise.
Xoom Xoom…. great comparison video. I was at a tough decision crossroad as to which tablet to purchase, thanks:-) . Only other small issue is the lagging (slow) release of apps. Such as Adobe 8 flash, needed to run available apps for the tablet. Being patient and loving every minute of seeing rotting fruit. ;-o
People don't care about widgets, they want apps, and ipad is the clear winner with the app store. It's a matter of preference. I used the ipad 2 yesterday, and for me, I would definitely get it instead of the Xoom. I just feel it's the better experience and it has lots of more apps to add and garage band was just a blast. The colors of video and picture are better on the ipad 2 and the quality's not really that bad. You can use the carousel music setting on ipad 2, don't know why he didn't show that. The ipad 2 is also much faster and way lighter which allows you to hold it longer in you hand. It's also much less expensive, but I do like how there is finally other legit options to choose besides ipad. So it all depends on what you want.

well i think everytime i look at an ipad it reminds me off a bigger version of my iphone 3g and iphone 4
I think those of us who have iphones more or likely want some type of different experience and this ipad 2 simply doesnt do it for me 🙂
I have easily found the display of the Xoom far more preferable to the iPad 2. Why not compare one of the more vibrant home screens of the Xoom, rather than the 'smoky' one…. seems a bit biased. And nitpicking over things like volume buttons? Really??? And I've also found the onscreen menu buttons on the Xoom to be both 'cooler' and more functional.
I do like the aluminum casing on the ipad 2 as far as attracting less smudging though… I just wish it was all white or all black. And I hate that the camera absolutely sucks.
As far as which tablet is the best… The Xoom handles handheld computing in a much more sophisticated way. The browsing, multi-tasking, notifications, search, gmail, and calendar functionality built into the Xoom just feel much more polished. There are pro's and con's with each tablet, but the Xoom feels much more like the future of tablet computing. To that regard, I feel like the Playbook will probably be a more likely rival to the Xoom than the iPad 2.

I think it would have been good to go into some additional detail on the difference in the way they handle notifications as well… it seems small but makes a big difference into the functionality of each tablet.

Surprised that iFans haven't hit this post yet to freak out because their beloved apple device wasn't reviewed by a flaming apple fanboi like it is on so many sites (engadget, techcrunch, gigaom, slashgear, etc.)–seems like only these small sites have the balls to state the facts. Maybe because they aren't trying to suck the ad $$ from apple 😉
The video comparison is very accurate and anyone who has played with both devices will know how intuitive, easy to use, more functional, more flexible, and way more customizable Android Honeycomb is over iOS for the iPad 2. Android Honeycomb is a great tablet user interface where iOS should have been left to smartphones and the iPod touch.
Can't wait to see the army of Android Honeycomb tablets hit the market over the next couple of months. By July we should have at least a dozen Android Honeycomb tablets to choose from.
I've got my eye on Asus' Eee Pad Transformer–a tablet netbook hybrid = all the fun of a tablet with all the functionality of a netbook/laptop.
What is the best option out there for me?: I go on the internet and do
all the usual stuff like youtube facebook etc etc i expect they all do
that 100% sweet as? i’ve got a $5000 laptop for that stuff anyway as
well as all MS office stuff, What I want is something that goes on
google earth with haste that i can pull out of my glovebox in the car
but also go on the internet when im out and about, but also i can stick a
usb drive into and play around with mp3’s and jpg’s…plus buy mp3’s
asap from an online music store to download and put back on a usb flash
drive….is there any of these overpriced gadgets out there that will do
this or am i dreaming for the time being? Im assuming you can only do
this stuff on apples toys if they ‘permit’ it!, In a summary i want a
touchscreen laptop that is tiny and can be used out and about on a
mobile network.
