Android Honeycomb Archos Gen 9 Tablet Specs Revealed

There’s a new Android 3.0 Honeycomb packing tablet on its way later in the year from Archos and is known as the Gen 9, and for those that may be interested in the new Android tablet some of the device’s specs have now been revealed.

According to an article over on Android Police and by way of Engadget, the guys over at Journal Du Geek, managed to get hold of some details for the Archos Gen 9 Android tablet that will apparently become available in June.

So here’s what specs have been revealed…the Archos Gen 9 will come out to play packing an ARM A9 1.6GHz processor, up to 250GB hard drive, 3G radio, although there’s a possibility of a WiFi only version as well apparently, and will run the Google guy’s tablet specific operating system Android 3.0 Honeycomb.

Apparently the Archos Gen 9 Android tablet will command a price tag of 400 Euros, which is roughly $566 once the device becomes available. So it would appear there will be another option for Android tablet fans that may challenge the likes of the Motorola Xoom…what do you think?

I wondered how long it would before somebody made a tablet with more than 64gigs memory. With 128gig memory cards coming out it just seemed logical. How much RAM will this have? Which carriers will support it?

Will somebody just do a 10″ wifi only honeycombe with capacitive screen and no onboard memory (can add sd slot). This will make it much cheaper!

  3. Archos Gen 9 tablet will be carrying 1.6GHz A9 Cortex ARM dual core
processor. To put it in perspective iPad 2 and Motorola Xoom are both
clocked at 1GHz. Storage will be 250GB HDD and there will be 32GB Flash
Drive as well. There are rumors flying around the net suggesting that
Archos Gen9 tablet will run on Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system.
(not confirmed as yet). If it is in fact true than 400 euro sounds
    awesome.
