iOS 4.3.1 Jailbreak: Are You Having WiFi Problems

The latest news on the new iOS 4.3.1 untethered jailbreak released by the Dev Team, is that the jailbreak is causing WiFi problems.

Earlier, I posted an article on the iOS 4.3.1 untethered jailbreak, see article here. However, it seems that since that article was posted, reports are coming in that some iOS users that have added the jailbreak to their devices are experiencing Wifi issues.

However, please note that in an article by one of the writers at iPhone Download Blog, it is indicated that via Twitter the hacker @i0n1c has mentioned that the mysterious WiFi issues were one of the reasons why the redsn0w/pwnagetool utility had been delayed. But later they found out that the new iOS 4.3.1 was causing the WiFi issues and not the jailbreak.

For some iPhone owners there is good news, as according to i0n1c, by simply rebooting the rooter the issues can be resolved. Unfortunately, this does not work for all iPhone users.

Have you added the iOS 4.3.1 jailbreak to your device? If so, have you experienced any WiFi issues? Also, if you have not added the jailbreak but are experiencing Wifi issues on iOS 4.3.1, please let us know in the comments box below.

I have an IP4 and used the RedSnow JB for IOS 4.3.1… i connected to the router and started downloading apps and games via installous but to no good, downloads are failing one after the other. i observed the behavior and noticed that the wifi is being disconnected when the wifi list is being refreshed. i did a side by side observation with an IP4 of my friend that is not jailbroken and using IOS 4.3.1 as well, and hell yeah… there's a problem with my wifi connection. on his IP4, when the wifi list is refreshed, it is still connected, as for me, it's loosing its connection… hope someone could help me.

I believe it's a problem with iOS 4.3.1 as my iPad 2 is experiencing those issues although can't say I have noticed them on my ip4 since I just updated and JB last night.

Have Iphone 4 updated with 4.3.1 without Jailbreak. Am experiencing wifi or browsing problems. Requires often requires reloading a page to get the page to display. Did not ever occur prior to updating.

On a jailbreak of 4.2.1 I noticed downloading of "Installous" apps that the download speed was very slow. Not being aware that the phone would default to wifii even with 3G active (I was told this after) I assumed that the phone was using 3G for the download and therefore turned off the 3G and Cellular data whereupon the speeds increased to normal. I am not certain if my friend is still downloading this way or not. In any case I mention this here because I saw this happen.

IOS 4.3.1,jailbroken, fresh restore, iphone 4.
i have tried several wifi routers, including my macbook's shared one and i have tried to reset the router and still no connection.

iOS 4.3.1 jailbroken with rc4 first, now rc11, iPhone 3GS. Wifi issues since upgrade – can connect to my router after reboot, will be disconnected after some time, and can't reconnect with ANY device until rebooting rooter again. Restoring my iPhone didn't help either.

  9. Using a bthomehub and iphone wifi crashes the internet on connection then is ok until screen goes to sleep when you wake the phone it crashes internet again…and so on..
