New HTC Thunderbolt Update Fix: 3G connectivity & GPS

If you own the HTC Thunderbolt smartphone you will be pleased to hear a new update has started to roll out to customers that promises to fix a few things.

Droid-Life uncovered this update last Friday and now confirms via the Verizon Twitter feed that the update has started rolling out today, some will get and other may have to wait as it is rolling out in stages.

Go to your System Updates screen, you will be notified when you can update. The source above says that it is not like Motorola’s Blur that allows you to pull updates manually.

This new HTC Thunderbolt update will fix a few things such as GPS updates will load a lot faster in Google Maps and you will get better 3G connectivity, it will also sort out a few bug fixes. Hopefully battery life will be a little better too, fingers crossed as they say.

If you have had the update please do let us know what it has done for you, we would like to know if the update went smoothly and if your encountered any problems. Thanks

I live in Delaware and I just check, no update available here, but shouldn't we be looking for an update that's going to give us better continuous 4G LTE connection and not 3 G. After all, 4G LTE is how they advertise thier faster phone ever… 4 G

Go to menu /settings / applications / manage aplications / running / scroll down to weather and clear data/ turn off the phone / pull the battery for 30 sec./ reinstall the battery turn phone back on. I had the same problem , works spot on now.

I got the update a few days ago, and I still have connectivity issues and problems with battery life. Plus, as the phone searches for a signal, my battery drains fast and I end up charging it three times a day. I feel like I am connected to a power cord everywhere I go.
I wish they would adtess the text sixe issue for mesaging. My “old” eyes just can’t see the small font as I am used to my Blackberry settings.
