iPhone Captures Space Shuttle Endeavour Last Launch

As they say it’s always a good idea to have a camera with you as you never know what you might capture, and it just so happens that this time it is the iPhone that captured the last launch of the Space Shuttle Endeavour.

According to the guys over at iPhone Download Blog by way of Mashable, Stephanie Gordon has become Internet famous because as she was visiting her parents in Palm Beach and her plane descended the pilot announced they may catch a glimpse of the Shuttle launch, and Stephanie not only got a glimpse but captured it with her iPhone.

According to the Mashable article… “As the plane descended toward Palm Beach and the Endeavour’s launch became visible, Gordon pulled out her iPhone and snapped a few photos and a short video. On the ground, she posted one of the photos to her then 1,800 Twitter followers.

In a few hours, she was fielding phone calls from ABC, the BBC and CNBC. She had accumulated about 1,000 new Twitter followers, and she had to turn the @mention push notifications off on her phone so they wouldn’t drain the battery.”

Stephanie remarked… “To be able to see the last shuttle launch of the Endeavour was awe inspiring, and to have a different view of it was just amazing.

Of course we have that short but exciting video of the historic event for your viewing pleasure below, so check it out and see just how good the iOS smartphone is at capturing video from 15000 feet up…enjoy.
