HTC EVO 3D Possible Release Date: Sprint Playbook Reveals

If you are holding out for some Android goodness with glasses free technology that is the HTC EVO 3D, although previously there was a “rough” release date of June 4th being bandied about, it appears that perspective owners of the HTC EVO 3D may still have a little while to wait.

According to the guys over at Phandroid, by way of Android Central, apparently the newest edition of Sprint’s Playbook magazine for employees has outed when potential owners may see the Android 2.3 Gingerbread smartphone become available.

As mentioned above, rumour speculated that the HTC EVO 3D could see release at the beginning of this month; however according to the Sprint magazine it is looking like the smartphone wont become available until the last week of the month.

That’s about as close as we can get to an HTC EVO 3D release date as there is no concrete hard and fast date specified, but at least those waiting to snap up the handset know that it is coming eventually.

I took that to mean week 4 of training too, or week 4’s news of May. Sprint’s flagship phones commonly come out in the beginning of June. This morning I received the “introductory” email to the Evo 3D since I had signed up for updates on the Sprint site. I think it is coming soon… I hope it is ’cause my EVO 4g is starting to give me problems & I am trying to be patient ’til the new one comes out. I’m already set with pre-order. My one big issue is being sprint premier I’m supposed to get news of info on new devices & since I signed up for updates multiple times, you think i would have heard through Sprint about their pre-orders. No, I found out about Sprint taking pre-orders by my repeated google searches for news on the device. Luckily, went in the next day and I’m #2 on the reserve list for the EVO 3d at my local sprint store.

Just because you are a premier customer (I am also), that doesn’t mean they had to tell you they were starting pre-orders. All you had to do was go in a ask about it and they would tell you yes or no. I called and they didn’t give me any info, so I walked and I pre-ordered it.
